That's one pool I always struggle to catch fish in. You did well thanks for sharing.
That third fish was one of the healthiest hens Ive seen in quite some time. You are truly blessed to have such spectacular waters in your neck of the woods. Keep sharing and I will keep watching. Cheers mate.
I've been following you for a while now. Mate, your suscribers keep pumping up. Congrats, hard and constant work is paying off. 👍👏
Love it!! That was a bit like our Loch fishing. Cast after cast after cast, knowing a fish is there and finally POW! you’re on. Keep them coming Gareth.
This is my new favorite fishing channel for sure! Well done from France!
Great vid, incredible river. Thanks for sharing and it's a big 'yes' to kingfish!
Sooo you know you’re living the the dream, right? Absolutely beautiful Browns.
_Your _*_video_*_ is awesome Congratulations Fisherman._ Have a week of plenty and good fishing. *hug!!!!!* 👍🎣🐟😊
Hey mate, love the video! I always am in a good mood after watching one of your vids!
That water is just crazy gorgeous
Nice one Gareth that's an exceptional day on the browns alright and that last fish had beautiful colouring..
hell yeah bro! love them brownies and your edits are on point!
I’d love to see more vids on you chasing Kingy’s in your boat or the flats. I’m super keen to learn more about Salt Water fly.
Such nice looking fish mate. Good session 🤙
Great video, great shots. Enjoy the content.
SOOLID VID!!!! Those truttasauras are gorgeous! Gotta be lake run given the light coloring and bright dark spots? Have an excellent lake run of browns, salmon and bows where I live in NH in the states. You ever find yourself here in October/November, give a holler for a tour of the area, cheers!
We get the same problem on the West Branch of the Farmington, CT. I had some just go over some sipping trout that were on # 24-26 Trico's. A lot of the time it's done on purpose. August is the worst month for rafters, it's hot and the water is still cold but not cold enough then after labor day that nonsense pretty much stops.
Another great video as always!!
Catch and release. Top man 👍🏻great video well done.
Man you are killin em. Good job. Now I've got to go check out NZ.
This video is amazing! I love your channel bro! So glad I came across it, just subbed! Tight lines
Great Fish, #3 was the best IMO. Great Vid!
Awesome fish!
Great vid, beautiful Fish and super sympathic👍🏻
Love the content bruv! Keep it coming!!!
Im coming here one day..bucket list!!!
Two weeks ago I landed quite a few 8-10lb browns just down from where you were on the straight stretch..caught them all on barbless red-beaded hair and coppers (similar to C3 Pole Position). I only fished with one fly as the weed was in full bloom.
How much fly experience would i need to come over and get the most out of your guiding? Ive always wanted to learn but this video amongst many of your really has me inspired.
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
gotta love those kiwis great boys i i tell yah ?? even the rafters in the river what a champ ? great people great fishing ! great video cheers mate fro canada
Watched many of your vids. Finally subbed tonight. Good shit!
Those are beautiful Rainbow trout you caught. Browns are very different.
Never caught a fish in that pool. Also, never been to NZ, so yeah...
Good skills catching fish from that pool!
Great work, gorgeous fish too. What sort of net is that and how do you rate it? I go through nets like I go through flies on the Hine so always looking out for a new one.
That last brown was a real stunner, real leopard!
The best wild brown trout I've ever seen
Great video.
Stunning looking river looks the bizzness....similar to the river wear look uk but wear isnt as clear
Great videos👍🏻
Great vid and awesome fish keep it up dude
awesome video really enjoy watching but need to start catching my own trout i fish the Motueka river so it shouldn't be too hard but haven't had much luck lately
Great job filming a beautiful river and excellent quality fish. I would really like to see you take some on streamers and dries. Bobbers have got to be getting old for you by now, yes?
That 3rd brown was mean as! Very nice colour 🤙 was just about to ask where have the drone shots gone
Good job Gareth! Nice video and excellent fish. PS. What was your set up in terms of fly line, leader and tippet?
Very cool. Well done. By the way. What line you throwing in that vid?
Awesome video
Well done awesome fishing
Nice big fish , good stuff:)
Was that a little rainbow rising at 6.54? Nasty place for that dead tree to be sitting. Looks enjoyable fishing the browns migration without the big crowds of winter.
quality over quantity mate! beauty fish! i can go get 50 plus.... if they all add up to one of those id be lucky, 10 inch fish alll day hahha i really need to get off my island to your island another good vid bud!
great channel 👍 and nice videos
Hey, explain me what those NZ browns feed on, to reach so big in small, mid size rivers. Mice? Of course not just insects.
Love it.
Geeeez...big damn fish! Thanks
Mind blowing Browns
I love the vids. Keep em coming. I will say, you are lucky you caught the first one. He bit that egg pattern at 2:29 and you didn't set until about 2:32, and you had tons of slack in your line. Lucky, lucky. :)

Horse fest Gareth . Awesome 👌👌👌
Great video mate. Great to hear what you are fishing with too. You need to do an Aussie trip and fish Tassie, the snowy mountains or the high country of Victoria. The GV boys drift boat on the Goulburn would be awesome too.

Nah stay away from those clowns on the goulburn; they give fly fishing a bad name. Way too many timers had them paddle over the top of me in the river Hook up with Scottie at indulgence fly fishing

Tristan Francis now now snowflake, don’t let my factual comment spoil your need to be spoon fed how to fish. The ‘GV Boys’ have a far reaching poor reputation’ for lack of courtesy on the river.

Tristan Francis, you’re getting raster desperate now
Do any of the NZ browns leave the river go to sea and come back to spawn?
Sei un grande 👍👍👍
Are these streams all stocked regularly? And or are they native to those streams? I'd love to take a trip there... Are most creeks accessable or are they private access
Awesome fish, good condition for breeding 👍
Nice. Makes me want to get on a plane and come across the pond.....but work calls....sheesh
Great video bud, u think u will do a stillwater video in the future?
One day in life..I´m gonna go to NZ and fish in these beautiful waters. I`m gonna need a guide then *hint hint*

Your edits are badass
man your channel has grown man!! Chur!!
Great video and great fish. You were very gracious about the rafters but if you don't tell them how to behave they will never learn. I'm not suggesting you are rude, but a polite request for respect goes a long way. I always thank kayakers who are respectful and ask others to do the same.
nice video👍
What kind of drone do you have?
Is it allowed in nz if we take the fish home and consume it? Thanks
BEAUTIFUL river, looks like tons of fun !
Had me laughing, casting at that kid in the kayak! I fish a tiny trib' on my local lake and have people canoe and kayak over me when the streams is less than 10' wide. I don't even know what to say to them when they do it...
@aaronpower998

On a 10 foot wide stream and they we're floating it there's nothing they can do short of carrying the kayak around you, it sucks but it's part of it it's just the way it is on small creaks
how do you get you gorpro video quality so good
What’s that string that you keep on pulling 🤘🤘🤘
How long of a leader do you use for your set up?
Awesome video, new to your channel 👍
magnificent view of The nature. I'm up for seeing you fish after kingfish
Not sure if its legal there, but you should do a night mission for browns.
Mean vid Bro should use ur boat to speed past them rafters blooming shell fish lol
what drone do you use?
What rod weight are you using mate?
Rising fish just above your hand at 6:52 !!
My little son use same reel like yours, fly fhising reel... You can check it guysss
Hooooooo it's a big one, it's a big one, a big one, it's a big one.
good video bro
Nice browns bro
What rod and reel are you using?

Hahaha yeah it was a good one for sure
Could somebody PLEASE explain to me why there are so many massive browns in New Zealand? Is it the food in the rivers? Is it a lack of pressure from fisherman? This is on my bucket list. I am coming to New Zealand to fly fish some day.

PS. Awesome video! Awesome fish!
2 hours to catch 13 lbs of fish, lot's of work??? I am heading to NZ and fish my ass off. so? that river is hard to access the browns ?cuz of clarity of turbidity? or picky eaters? for sure spook easy... why is it so hard? big Browns eat sub surface most, what is the hatch that you wait for to fish for browns on top? AWESOME VIDEO...Keep them coming... oh yah, take that sweet ride out on the water...cheers... tight lines full nets man.

Bro, thought fishing with more than 1 fly was illegal...at least it was when I grew up there in the 60's - 70's, but then using a 3 prong garden fork was'nt allowed either
