    If you are wondering why I did this video with new wheel and not old wheel - I waited for about 3 months with this little video because I was ashamed how my wheel looks like (bruised, some parts missing, dirty) so I waited for new wheel sent from Fanatec fresh from box Also apparently you need to say all of these things nowadays - this is not sponsored video

    There is a very useful function in ACC, allowing you to use the same button for 2 different things. Like Flasher. I have a button for flasher. But if I leave it pressed for 1 sec it turns my lights on (Cycle Light). How you do this? There is Extended Input option for everything. Press the button X for Cycle Light and then set it to extended input and choose how log it has to be pressed. Then use the same button for Flasher. And voila, you have the same button for Flashing your lights and Cycling Light stages.

    You can also map a button for second action via down 'arrow' and select depress time 0-2 sec which initiates other funcion. Like quick push for flasher and longer push for lights on and off.

    Thank you so much! I fell in the proverbial hole and spent so much $ on this "hobby". Extruded profile rig, pedals, the list goes on. Including a DD1 coupled to a Porsche wheel, button module endurance, and advanced paddle module. After getting all this assembled and setup, I'm thinking, what to do with all these paddles, knobs and buttons that make proper sense? I posted to the Fanatec forum and got no response until posting again a few weeks later to see if I had perhaps asked the wrong question for some reason. A kind soul actually took a picture of his with his labeling and posted it! But with this video Jardier gives much more info on the thinking that goes into mapping the assignments. Also, some of the previous comments are much appreciated!

    Hi Jardier, I have a question specifically related to the steer lock per car. I have a DD1 and am using Fanalabs to setup my profiles. There is an option for Maximum Steering Angle to be set to "Auto". If I did this vs setting up different profiles per car in Fanalabs, would this be more efficient, and would ACC then tell the wheel what to set it to, or do I need to configure different profiles for each car in Fanalabs, then manually go and load it when I want to drive that specific car? What is the most efficient way everyone is doing this?

    Hey! What's the advantage changing wheel rotation per car vs just keeping it 900/900 and let the game auto adjust rotation to keep your wheel 1:1 with the sim. TM and Logitech wheels is a pain to change to steer lock I used the long push function to expand, like right left d pad is brake bias, but long push left right is ABS.

  • @scorchy5169

    @scorchy5169

    There's no hard lock feature built in, so if you were turning more than the car's actual steering lock, the steering wheel ingame would lock out on one side and in real life you would be able to continue turning it. Limiting it to the car's specific steering lock makes sure you can't turn it any more than it's supposed to turn for the car itself.

    Why arent you using the two MPS for ABS and TCS? They are tailored axactly for that as they can work as 12 individual positions so when you set the left MPS for example to position 6 this would result in TCS value 6 etc. To map such an important function to the Thumb Encoders imho is quite risky because the Thumb Encoders are quite loose and you can easily hit the Thumb Encoders accidently during driving which would result in a TCS value change which is of course something you never ever want to happen...

  • @Gix321

    @Gix321

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'm assuming that they are easier to use while driving. Some drivers change tc for different corners during a lap, and using the mps is more difficult as you need to take your hand off the grip instead of just moving your thumb. Same as when driving in wet conditions, it wouldn't be ideal to hit a puddle while changing the mps compared to just rolling your thumb.

  • @Jardier

    @Jardier

    2 жыл бұрын

    I use rottaries on thumbs because they are faster/easier to use right when I need them. At start I tried on front rottary but it was clumsy, slow to use and I had to take hand basically off wheel to adjust it :) For example I drove Porsche on spa where I had to change brake bias between busstop/la source to eau rouge from 46 to 53 and it was imposible
