Wueh ! Our mothers are really our superheroes. Wewe naona tumepitia kind of the same living alone struggles but onwards and upwards we go !! I stopped doing monthly grocery shopping because I realised I was spending too much money and majority of the time I would buy things that I'm not using with the excuse of "it's in the budget of monthly shopping" then around the second week after I had finished the set budget of that shopping I'm back to square one. So I resulted to buying things only when they end and for sure I noticed I saved more coins when I started doing the latter.
