I'm not sure people understand you have to be an actual artist to do this. Understanding how light works and literally painting towards an end result you're proud of. This is very impressive.

Firstly, I use dodge and burn with curves, it makes less color spots than gray layer. And you can put dodge and burn curves in blending mode "luminosity", this way curves shouldn't affect on color. If I have color spots, I just use brush on empty layer in blending mode "color" and draw the right color.

I'm curious to know how long a retouch like this would take you in real-time start to finish? great work.

Инглиш, конечно, нот перфект... А девчонка прикольная, я бы познакомился :) По ретуши - жесткий переретач, сам так раньше делал. Надо снижать на 50% непрозрачность DB.

Да, на пустом слое. Лечащие кисти и штамп могут работать на пустом слое. Непустой слой обычно нужен для заплатки, но я ее не использую.
