I'm facing the leakage issue with VBDace rice cooker.I highly not recommend anyone to buy this product. Purchased from Chennai and totally not worth the cost (5500 rs) . This mechanism seems a failure. How much ever is the water level (Tried both high and low) kept in the bottom vessel, the rice doesn't cook properly and the water gets leaked continuously. When complained about it in the customer care, Mr. Anand replies very rude and not anymore responsible for the product. His baseless solution was ,"to remove the upper lid and stir the vessel continuously when ever there is a water leakage". Then what’s the use of this product ? Why do I require this namesake cooker? I can follow the same old traditional method of stirring and boiling the rice in the vessel itself. Both the product and customer service are Strange!!! Got fed up asking for replacements, demo and refund. They aren't agreeing for any damn thing. Refund my amount immediately!!

Ultimately the management bluffs and blames us finally stating we don't know how to use and cook. They give multiple fake reviews for their products . Finally they will be caught like this for their defective pieces and failed mechanisms.

Thanks for the video. It's an eye opener for all us. A chef need not be a great Designer of cookware.

Normal Namma Daily life idli making stainless steel or aluminum vessels are just between Rs. 500 to Rs. 800 . That will use for so many years. You ask your elders, they will guide you.

Salem stainless steel idli pathiram/vessels are good with good weight and that costs half the price of VB dace. Salem Stainless steel mark will be in the vessel made by few brands. In any idli vessel steam will go in the sides as obviously the steam built up inside has to go out.

In prestige idli pathram, steam doesn't go in the edges. They have given a small hole at the top of the lid for the steam to go.

I too am a😢victim of VB DACE's cheating. They foisted a wet cutting board on me and were reluctant to take it back . I am not sure whether Mr Venkatesh Bhat reads these comments and is aware that his name is being used for such unethical business practices.

I'm hoping there isn't any water spilling outside. Since there is boiling water underneath, it is common for water to collect on the top.

Buy two idly plates fit in thi pot And it is an ordinary thing that evaporated water is on the glass cover

In any steaming vessel, steam has to go out and it can escape only through the lid. This is very basic. The water on the lid also follows the same logic.

Actually in normal idly paathram there will be no vent for steam to escape,so steam water tries to come out through the lid gaps. But in this glass lid, it has vent but not good enough to release the steam outside...this will automatically make idly soggy😅

my butterfly idli cooker is going strong after 20 yrs:)

1. Idly cooker is meant to have low water level. If you cook it with more water level, then it will obviously flow through your idlies. Amature cooking. 2. You mentioned that you have the habit of getting yourself hurt with the heat of utensils. Shows you can't handle utensils. 3. If a product has a defect and if they are genuinely replacing it, then i dont find anything wrong in it. 4. If you are seeing water levels on one side of the glass lid, then your stove or kitchen is not in perfect straight alignment. I would recommend you not to use kitchen until you get some basics, you will hurt yourself
