Our Young Ambassador Finty shares her experience of getting an autism diagnosis at the age of 15, after being referred by CAMHS while accessing treatment for an eating disorder. Although Finty says she actually tried not to get the diagnosis, because at the time she didn’t believe she was autistic, she explains that she is now grateful she got it because it helped her to understand herself and to recover from her eating disorder, which may have saved her life.
