I love your art set up! It's so crafty and feels like it can get you in a creative mood! Thanks for this Travis and thanks got filming it Carah!!
Great shoutout for Jerrys! I love that store. I always have Amazon, Blicks, and Jerry's pulled up to compare prices between the three to compare any promotions going on.
I always like seeing videos like this. Your setup is the perfect place to have everything right there in front of you! Would love to see more sketches in color!
Your workspace is awesome! I need to turn my room into one of those!
Nice workspace, thanks for sharing. There's nothing like having your own space.
I minored in Art History in college and Caravaggio was my favorite! Well, the Italian renaissance in general but him specifically. My local art museum had a travelling exhibit a few years ago that contained one of his actual paintings! I was nearly star struck LOL Great video Travis!
Nice workspace, boy!! Lovely and inspiring place!! Congrats!!
I loved the video! Your art workspace is so nice, so much art stuff haha. I hope you paint the huge painting you want yourself, it'll personalize the area even more! and lol, i have one of those pull out things you used for the camera too, but for a mirror like you said.
Nice workspace, I'm going to have to check out that Animals reference book. Also, I'm extremely excited for your colored pencil realtistic portrait video, as that is my favorite medium and I love portraits.
Never commented on a youtube video before, but here I am. You have the same obsession I do with that toned paper. I cannot get enough of it and am always looking for a good opaque white pen. I just bought a hard cover toned grey on clearance. But...you also make me want to upgrade my sketch-a-day sketches. Currently they are mostly doodles (been doing it for 61 days)...and some of them really bad. I also, thanks to my boyfriend, have been introduced to copics...when I never thought I would be a marker fan AT ALL. I feel like I have a whole new world opened up to me, and I find your videos inspiring. I spent too long not drawing enough - need to fix that.

That's great to hear. Part of me is regretful that I didn't dedicate myself to doing this sooner, but better late than never. I have until I'm dead to keep it going and get better. I need to start carrying a few of my copics around with me because I really want start adding color to my sketches.

One of the many benefits to being a girl is being able to get away with carrying a purse. My purse is mostly an art supply bag with the occasional pair of keys or wallet. My problem is deciding WHICH of my goodies to carry around with me everywhere I go.
Cool studio. Very inspiring.
Beautiful workspace.
Hello trav, I'm an artist as well I sold my first painting at a art crawl in houston, I just wanna say you've really inspired me to further my knowledge and technique, thank you.
I just came across your channel and I love you already. I went a head and subscribed and I can't wait to see more of your videos. You really need to make a library video show casing all your books. I'm not sure if you have one but I'm dyeing to know what the books are.
That's a really good work set up I really love your art work they're really nice.... your such an amazing drawer!!!! One of the best drawers I've seen!! :-)

Very nice and organised! :) I've just finished my art degree and my studio was full to the brim of prints, sketchbooks and books! Now I've had to bring it all home and have no space for anything.. I've just started making art vlogs, and love swing other people art and studio spaces :)

Travis, is that action figure, next to Optimus on your shelf, Exo Squad or is it Battletech? I recognize it but you didn't happen to mention the name of what it's from. =) Thanks!

The Big Book of Drawing, by András Szunyoghy. Correct me if I'm wrong. Just in case anyone else wanted to know the name of the reference book like I did. I must have missed it's mention in the video or comments. I was amble to decipher from the split second you held it by the title in the video. Thanks for your time.
that thing you use as a tripod, you called it mirror hook? I tried finding it but can't, if you can share that would be awesome.
what width mechanical pencils do you use SketchyTrav

The Camera itself has a flip screen with a zoom in and out feature that faces me so I can zoom in easily with the camera for close ups if i want. I use the left to right and forward and back ward a decent amount so this set up gives me every option for movement.
hey trav im an animator too now i have a good question and what do you perfer cintiq or intuos tablet
Could u do a video on how you got started in the art field? I graduated a couple of years ago with a degree in fine art but I'm having a difficult time trying to find something, anything really, related to art that doesn't require years of experience already in the field. Do u have any suggestions or tips to that could help someone in my position? Any advice would be appreciated.

I started college as a fine art major but switched to graphic design. I had a job lined up right out of school as a graphic designer which wasn't great pay but i moved up in the company and am now the Art director. I wish I could give you advise for finding a job but fine art careers are something I wouldn't know much about. I would say though that the art field is tough and competitive. Out of all the people in my field that I graduated with only myself and one other is still working in a related job. I would just say do whatever you can to get your foot in the door. I wish you the best and good luck.
Could you possibly put the names of the books you pointed out in the about section for this video? I would love to write them down as I've actually been looking for a couple of books similar to what you showed us.
If you would like to build up a library of art history books beyond the Gardner look at the books on the world's great museum collections They can be had for less then a happy meal. Example, right now there is a beautiful 332 page book on the Nation Gallery for $0.19. That is about what I paid for mine -- great book with more illustrations than my Gardner. There is a 592 page book on The Metropolitan Museum of Art for about $5 (so expensive), filled of course with full color illustration of their amazing collection. One of my favorite museum books is Paintings in the Hermitage, a 639 page fully illustrated marvel. It can be yours for about five bucks (mine was $3). There are equally good deals on the collections of the Louvre and Musee d'orsay and others. Of course you have to pay shipping ($3.99/book) but if you smartly spend $25 or so, you will look back on your Gardner days as being deprived.
Hi, could you name the animal book in black appeared in the clip? Thanks
