The build-up of tension from the moment the Not-Thing Doctor sits down to talk to Donna up to the end of this clip is fantastic, imo. One of the most genuinely unnerving and anxiety-inducing moments I've seen in a Doctor Who episode in years. I don't think I'll ever be over David's delivery of, "Oh, we get hungry, don't we?"

I'm not sure why, but 0:15 and "Oh, I see...when something's gone, it keeps existing..." is such a cool idea. Intangible creatures learning about the reality they threaten as they go along.

i love that the language seems perfectly apt to them. they’re not confused about english at all. “hungry” MEANS something to them, but until now it has only been an abstract concept. one of infinite impossibilities. but now it is made concrete. he doesn’t sound like something learning about hunger for the first time, but rather like an entity who is considering it seriously for the first time. such an interesting tone to strike, it makes them feel truly intelligent even though they know nothing.

Love the fact that the docs initial reaction to ‘Donna’s’ long arm is concern and reassurance that he’s ’got her’ and that ‘he’s there’ for her. My god their friendship is too pure.

I'm undecided on my overall opinion of the new run so far, but I've gotta say, the visuals and concepts are fantastic. The Meep's practical elements were spectacularly executed, the not things are done well especially the practical arms and second knee, and my god that cinematography, perfectly replicating a one-er with two of each character in frame as the camera moves is insanely cool. The Not Things were such a clever idea💡! They seriously creep me out.
The feeling at this moment when this was first broadcast will take something unbelievable to even match in the future.
Actually it reminds of a scene out of Army of Darkness of the evil dead franchise where Ash tried to figure out which necronomicon was real. One of them had a singularity a mini black hole that sucked him in and later stretched his face out. I think this is an indirect nod to that movie. As always I love Russell T Davis work on doctor who. Taking the story lines from the doctor who comics and new material. Fantastic ❤
Proper Who, I had this whole episode on repeat in my head all day.😀
I've got so many theories about these two. First off, when Ten faced down The Master and Rassilon and told The Master about The Time War, he mentions "The Could've Been King and his army of Meanwhiles and Never-Weres". Could these be related to that somehow?

As soon as the the Doctor slumped down on the floor, I knew it wasn't him. Such great acting. Just so subtly wrong. And a brilliant episode. My favourite of this group of specials. All a little bit too real though. AI is getting more and more sophisticated. I wonder how it will change things. When the Doctor got the 'wrong' Donna at the end, it really pushed the potential danger home.
That face at 2:59 is horrifying
"Drive faster, the bad CGI is getting closer!" "Quick, gently tap it with that bar!"
I´m amazed how scared I was watching this episode. The concept of shapeshifters which also copy your knowledge/memories to become a perfect copy is just scary. Luckily it was only two Not-Things and two people as with more it would have been even more difficult to find the real one.

God damn what an incredible series of episodes this was
The main problem is that they are trying to make the body all at once, when you have to start with the skeleton then put the skin on
I mean, they weren't wrong. Their arms WERE too long.
I quite like that the cgi looks off it just works with this setting and the non things
almost at the season finale, and this is still the best episode (and scene) in the entire new series by a long shot

I actually thought there was a jump-cut of time between the two places at first, where Donna does the filament panels with the Doctor watching, then she follows into the other room to watch the Doctor adjust the water pipes, and vice versa. (I put it on TV Tropes myself.)
This was the best one from the special
