@@haroldbottom3474 Precisely the point. African Americans dont know if we are Mende or Wolof or Yoruba. We dont have language or our names or anything to indicate where our ancestors are from. Some of us long to know. Its not that deep though. Its my opinion. Not holding my breath waiting on it.

nadoop most likely her southeastern bantu comes from, angolan and or congolese ancestors who were descended from the bantu migrants,if you go to ancestry where they have the also found in part they mention angola and congo, also they tell you southeastern bantu originated in the west and migrated,at the same time she could have ancestors from chad, from mozambique and madagascar even zanzibar, africa's borders are real artificial

NayFresh87 bantu speakers and their closest relatives are clustered in cameroon and east nigeria and bantu are not close to assyrians or arabs remember from the bible that shem was the father of asshur who was the father of the assyrians, assyrians are not black or bantu and arabs are not black or bantu not as a general rule which begs the question of if ishmael was the son of black abraham and black hagar and his descendants invaded egypt why are egyptians black? and if cham was black and gave rise to the egyptians how come the coptic christians who say they descend from ancient egyptians are not black? josephus who was a jew and who wrote about the war between rome and the jews also gave the background on every nation he new of and he said phut was mauretania that would be equal to morocco most moroccans are not black,so if assyrians are not black, and arabs are not and they descend from shem, how could shem be black? and how could phut be black if his descendants the moroccans are not black? nor do they speak a bantu language. also people from the socalled middle east fit together like a jigsaw puzzle like if you were trying to put together a puzzle that was a picture of a camel caravan but our puzzle is of a group of men drumming while a lady dances during some ceremony or celebration,so our puzzle piece will not fit but if we were part of the middleeast puzzle piece we should fit.

I love these DNA tests because I honestly feel bad that african-americans never got to experience true african culture growing up. I'm not saying that the culture they made for themselves isn't sufficient but I mean it in the way you mentioned how most african-americans can't pinpoint they're heritage compared to other peers. The african ancestry website is a step in the right direction because there are always things DNA can't tell you like your people's history, cuisine, culture, mannerisms, dance and music, little things like that. That's just my opinion though.

We pretty much have close to the same makeup as do many. A brother here in Ghana explained there's a reason it's called the gold and Ivory coast. And what people carried the goods to those ships; the tribes you mentioned. The mixture was them trying to create super slaves. By the way he also indicated only the strongest survived and even the wwestrongest are returning. Just think about that. We live to tell. Our families are from the strongest seeds and certainly built the Nations we hail from. Praises to the most high

Those Bantu languages evolved from something else and it could be languages spoken by the other 71% of groups mentioned in her ancestry so that is how inefficient this DNA mapping system is especially for us Africans . We are very mixed throughout the continent .

I recently heard of a story of a black woman's results being mixed up with a white woman's results (from 23 & Me) and it had me a bit worried. My other concern is hearing about how our DNA is bought and sold to other companies and etc. I don't mind mean to come off as a skeptic, but I just want to make sure that it is the real deal that I am finding out and that my information is kept confidential. :-)

We can also agree that the far interiors of Africa is in the central African region of the continent. DNA taken by African Americans who have links to that region only record those from the coastal countries of Cameroon, Angola and the Congo Basin. West Africa hasn't got deep interior jungles as we are bordered by the Sahel to the north. Anyways my Dad (RIP) was also Yoruba, welcome to the virtual world Brother

Probably her ancestors were captured and sold by the Kingdom of Dahomey, Whydah and Allada. Those were some of the most powerful kingdoms in the region where the economy was based on slave labor and slave trade.

Traveling Sista I think with African Ancestry test, it traces child to parent to parent to parent and so forth. So for instance, say a Native American man fathers a son by an African woman, and that son fathers a son by an African, and that son has a son by an African woman, and say it continues that way for five or so more generations. Then if that last son traces his "tribe" by the African Ancestry test, his tribe should come back as Native American, even though he's 99+% African. This is because the father's Y chromosome, Native American in this example, passes from the first father to each son unchanged. For a female, such as yourself, since no Y chromosome is passed on to you, you'd have to have your father or one of his sons or some other suitable male relative tested. Or otherwise, you could check your tribe from your mother's line.

I can't pinpoint all of my trace elements are 84% African and 13% is from Nigeria, 13% is European, 1% West asian. I do have the percentages from each one but not in front of me ,I used ancestry.com but want to use 2 other companies to see if my results to see if the results are the same. Looking at my family history and the migration of mankind, from the beginning of time I can see how we black African Americans came to be mixed. I enjoy researching and even if the results aren't accurate it's still fun. I know that on my dad's mom's side, my gr8 gr8 grandmother was taken by slavers from Madagascar and brought to America, her slave master Ann's one of his relatives impregnated her and she had 2 sons as a result one of which was my gr8 grandfather. I also have the info on my dad's fathers side but it's too much to type her but I'll say that my surname is either from Scotland, Ireland or Britain and the first person with our name came from Lancashire, England, now I need a male 1st cousin to take the DNA test which shows the male lineage so that I can break through the brick wall and possibly learn what plantation my gr8 gr8 grandfather may have come from and if he had siblings.

AfricanAncestry can't pinpoint where most of your African genes come from. It actually just takes your haplogroup on either your maternal or paternal side and match it with an African tribe. Haplogroups are ancient and make up a very small part of your DNA, but they are passed down from generation to generation (mother to daughter to daughter to daughter or father to son to son to son). In the sense, AfricanAncestry will just match you with a tribe that you could have had only one ancestor from out of the thousands of ancestors that you've had in the last 2,000 years. So a small part of your overall DNA. That's why it really isn't worth the $300 dollars unless you really, really want to put a tribe to your name and have something to claim. 23andMe will give you your haplogroups for $99 dollars and you can do the research yourself to see which tribes in Africa mostly have that haplogroup.

+LoliceMe thank you! I'm definitely going to do more research about his and I also heard that you had to pick which parent you want to dig deeper into genetically. And yes it's a STEEP price. I will check out 23 and me as well. I want to do multiple tests (possibly under a different name) and see if the data correlates between the both. Thanks and I'm gonna look into it.

Congolese/ and Klao( kra) called the Kru .kroos. Of Ivory Coast, Liberia; Ghana. (/Akan / Fante) too. ////Togo..Ivory coast/ Ghana....I am from Liberia at the southeastern boarding the Ivory Coast..( Once the Ghana Or Mali - Songhai ancient Empires. ).. Igbo ( Hebo).. happens to be one of the KLAOs.. within the ( kingdom of Judah.. Jewish in the old Negroland of West Africa. All left the Mali Empire toward the Gold Coast during the Holy Jihad war. Based on the great migration. Your result is quite accurate.. The largest concentration means that is now where ( most of your closest relatives now reside.. Trading at the Iberian peninsula..( Cape verde- grain coast,,,,- Ivory Coast- Liberia.) to south and Central America before the slave trade.

@ServantoftheoneTrueGod AlmightyGod. Hey, as a matter of fact I am. I’m starting with Ancestry because my family is HUGE!!! We are our own clan and I’m so serious. LOL!!! My family has a genealogy chart on ancestry.com that is 55 pages long. To me, it made sense to start their because so much of our history is documented and captured on the site. I have seen pictures of my ancestors that date back over a hundred years old. I found out about African Ancestry after paying for the basic one at Ancestry.com. I can’t wait to see both results. It’s a great time to be alive!!! Peace and blessings...💕💕💕
