If you make 10 servings or more, make sure to shake the jar before each use to remix because the salt is heavier than the magnesium.

Quick note: I found some videos stating LMNT aren't pure, some surprising nasties going on. That said, always good to buy your own and DIY anyway! BIG Thank you for showing us how!!! Minor variation: I bought the Magnesium Glycinate, which absorbs better than Malate (per my research anyway) and seems to be well liked. My real concern: Shouldn't the Potassium Chloride be at 4700, per recommendations by several amazing health gurus vs 363, per LMNT? For me, I followed the 1sodium / 4 potassium ratio recommended by Dr Berg, and raised my mag to 500. - I haven't sorted out the mag or calcium ratio yet as age does make a difference there, and also I'm not a heavy gym attendee, which def'y raises the ratios! Me: 1060 sod/ 4700 pc / 500 mg. Your thoughts?

I made the first one you made and found that, once they are all mixed up, I felt I didn’t get the proper amount for each as some are lighter than other (make sense?) so I now use your calculations (thank you!) and makes it as I go. For travels, I got a contact lens cases and pre-measure portions in them. I would advise getting ones with deep wells, mine were a bit small. For longer trips, I take the ingredient with me separately and acquired a jewelry scale to measure as I go.

This question is asked in good faith: If, according to nutritional consensus, we are lead to believe that Vitamin K1, Folate, Potassium and Vitamin C are all essential nutrients for an optimal human diet, and they are all low or missing in a carnivore diet, how do we get around this without having to supplement?

My understanding at this time is that many of the RDAs might be much different in the context of a carbohydrate-free diet. Vitamin C is the big one - such a similar molecule to glucose, they compete for the same transporter on the cell membrane. When you cut the carbs out, the vitamin c that is in meat (and higher in organs) can actually be absorbed much easier, and therefore a person requires much less than the RDA, which assumes you are eating a carb-based diet. I imagine this concept applies to many other vitamins and minerals, which would explain why we have increasing numbers of carnivores who are thriving long term without supplementation.

  • @MattMick

@@neahsway Thanks Neah. Yes that makes a lot of sense. My main concern is getting adequate vit B9 (Folate) and K1, as these are mainly found in eggs and organ meats only (on carnivore diet). I'm allergic to eggs and find organ meats unpalatable, so I need to work on that by perhaps trying liver pate or mixing it in with other meats. As you say though, perhaps the RDA for B9 and K1 is lower when you eliminate carbohydrates....
