    This man never changes. I feel like no matter what trials he goes through, no matter how difficult times gets, he is always actively taking care of himself and reminding others to do the same. That's pretty inspiring to me.

    To be fair, you can never be sure of it. If you asked anyone for these tips - they would give you mostly the same question. We all know we need to turn off notifications while studying, we all know self care is important.... The key is in actually doing all these stuff. And you dont know if he is doing all of that and to what extent..... unless he is vlogging everyday, but even that can be staged.

  • @EmilyMGin

    @EmilyMGin

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@LL-wu5ui @LL that's true, it totally could be all staged and he might not practice what he preaches at all. I wouldn't be surprised, thats more human and real anyway. I guess what I found noteworthy for me was that I generally don't put myself first especially since entering university, school is everything, and I started watching John fish at that time I entered 2-3 years ago. And this guy is constantly saying the same thing over and over again in these videos, its predictable and simple . But this time he actually looks like hes having a little bit of a hard time and hates how online school is, he honestly looks not that happy right now having all of his productivity preferences destroyed by online school. But he still went and adapted the same things as he has always said before to now. Wellbeing, mental health, you'll do better if you take care of yourself better, blah blah... But somehow I'm happy that he didn't change. Sometimes it's nice when things don't change, especially when so many things are.

    *SUMMARY* 1. *Technology is distracting.* 0:50 -Practice attention/time management: when you're in class/doing homework, fully focus (turn off notifications, take physical notes, use fullscreen). Learn things right the first time around. 2. *Self-care.* 2:58 -Find time in the day to do what makes you happy: go for a walk, cook, read a book, make fancy coffee. Use this to help you escape the mundanity. 3. *Prioritize yourself.* 4:40 -Constrained optimization: maximizing something, while given restraints. -Optimize your wellbeing first, while ensuring you keep a certain acceptable level of grades (not vice versa) -You are more than just a student.

    A friendly reminder to everyone (especially underclassmen in college) that this semester does not define your academic capabilities. I'm graduating this semester and I felt like a freshman again because I was taken so off guard because study skills I previously used didn't work for me in this setting anymore. If this semester didn't go as well as you planned, remember that you did the best you could given the circumstances and you can only learn and do better from here. Stay safe and healthy everyone!

But my speech teacher who was involved in global marketing the other day said something that helped me understand. She said how will it look on your resume and when it is noted that you dropped out of online school because it was too hard for you. It will hurt you in the long run Alexa so press on and dont give up. It is hard but dont give up hold on to your dreams and remember them as you do your school. God bless you have a great day. I completely agree on the point that my studies have definitely become me rather than a part of me. I just have to maintain the level. I too remember on my first year how I used to throw myself from class to class and be okay in not having fun and scoring good. I am just now on my second year trying to balance out. Thanks for all those advices👩🏻‍💻👌🏻

    amazing tips! i think the toughest part is the lack of compassion from teachers, they just don't seem to get wht we're going thru and its makes mental health even worse

In the meantime, Im simply recording yoga videos everyday on my youtube channel (im a yoga teacher dont worry) - good challenge right ? love xxx

    Another tip. Create a designated work space. Desk, pretty fraiy lights, no distractions such as tvs or noisey rooms where you can hear the traffic outside. Create a space where you ONLY focus and study. And do nothing else. Also create a space eoth good lighting and good back support. Get a bolster pillow for your bed.
