The cuteness of this show makes it hit that much harder when it gets sad. And it's even harder because I can see where both sides are coming from, even though I feel Lois had less right to be mad.

I mean they did deliberately set up Lois to be overreactive so yeh, that with me observing that she def missed the point of what Clark said about what she did "secretly" is lying calling her out before (although technically Clark said that's more of stealing, but I think that's where I get clued in where she came out of), and misunderstanding that not all lies involve anything terrible, just things have to be outta safety or hard to swallow knowing about (which ep 6 has him address ofc), tho you could say Clark shoulda rather clarified whatever he preached. Worse is not believing him the first place as well when he means so some cases. But yeah definitely sad how that happened. :(

I was never a supes type of girl, but this show changed my mind completely. Lois and Clark are so stinking cute together they have me giggling and kicking my feet every episode. AND JIMMY! THE BESTIE WE ALL NEED!

The perfect word to describe this show is “fun.” It’s not too serious or too goofy, it’s just something that’s meant to be enjoyed by those who appreciate it.

Fun fact, Brain and Monsieur Mallah are a couple in the comics. I think it mostly depends on the writer, but I just find it hilarious that they went with THESE two in the show XD

This show is so so good, I screamed when I realized that was Myxyzptlk in the opening sequence and my friend didn’t believe me, when that episode came around I was VINDICATED

@aronmick659 that was the first try. She dies it again at the daily planet, and clark instead of catching her, uses his breath to slow her fall without anyone suspecting. Both tries were in the 2nd movie.

Even Jimmy, I love that they don't threat the characters respecting their intelligence.

I like the reference to Jimmy's time as the hero Flamebird. The Nightwing and Flamebird names come from Kryptonian legends/superheroes (kind of like the Kryptonian Batman and Robin). Pre-Crisis, Clark (Nightwing) and Jimmy (Flamebird) would use these identities while in the bottled city of Kandor, where Kal-El/Clark has no powers. Clark used the Nightwing identity many times, before Dick took the name to honor him.

11:35 - "You Will Believe A Man Can Lie," is easily the funniest shit you could've possibly said in that situation. Perfect comedic timing, perfect delivery. Way to go, John, that was hilarious, I was laughing so hard I had to pause the video. I mean, that was a perfect off-the-cuff line that's somehow multi-layered. XD

I’m so happy y’all are liking this one, I’m really here for the anime-like style and to me it’s pure compassionate Superman, but he feels human as well.

I love this show so much. I love how in many ways it's not faithful at all, but has a wonderful and unique take on all the elements. I love that the hat suggests that this is the usual Mxyzptlk, just with a different imp-ish look. Monsieur Mallah and the Brain have been in a few animated projects, and they also showed up in Doom Patrol.

You definitely need to watch Young Justice. Also, Justice League Unlimited to introduce you both to some C & D list characters 👌 both great shows.

Honestly, a Superman show that doesn't get talked about enough has to be the 1988 Superboy TV show, honestly a really memorable show and one the first instances of multiverse on screen in terms of DC shows

I'd sooner recommend The Legion of Superheroes show from the mid 2000's because that should be easier to find.

I don't know how you guys did it, but you accidentally stumbled on a great way to divide up the season. Love that you guys are digging this show, I would love to see more cartoons from you two. Young Justice and Spectacular Spider-Man immediately come to mind. (Spectacular Spider-Man in particular divides up really cleanly into 3-4 episode long arcs, and it's only (criminally) 26 episodes long)

Episode 7 I have to say is my favorite in the overall series. I hope we get confirmation about a character being related to one of the main characters. Also Mr. Mxyzptlk's look reminds me Kai's in DBZ.

Mxy knows that this is the anime Superman universe, hence the anime look. He talks about his look throughout the multiverse being different in Rebirth. He KNOWS that in some universes, the DC universe is fictional.

The location of Metropolis is...complicated. Originally, it was basically a substitute for New York City (as was Gotham City; like I said, complicated). In the Silver Age, it was shown to be in Delaware across the bay from Gotham in New Jersey. And for a while Metropolis was back in New York State (see the Justice League/Avengers crossover). It might still be. Smallville went from being a small town in Maryland to a small town in Kansas. In the television series Smallville, Metropolis was also in Kansas, about 100 miles from Smallville.

My Adventures feels like Ted Lasso, especially in the way they move through the plot, set em up-knock down-and do it with a twist and with heart. We have not seen Clark Kent like this since Christopher Reeves and I, for one, am pleased!

Episode 7 is definitely my favorite episode this has been such a fantastic show and I can’t wait for the season finale tomorrow

The style and the humor.. Lois reminds me so much of Pepper Potts in the old animated "Iron Man Armoured adventures" show.. I love it

8:41 It’s important to remember that you’re not dealing with a fully realized Superman yet. That was definitely my problem because I had the same thought the fellas had here. Only to find out a couple episodes later that he didn’t have his super-hearing yet. WHOMP-WHOMP!! I then realized that unless the show “shows” me the ability/power I won’t take it for granted that he has said power.

Central city is apparently in Missouri near St Louis and that blew my mind the same way Metropolis blew Coy and Johns 🤣

I wan always under the impression that Metropolis was a stand in for Chicago and Gotham was in New York. I only recently learned that Metropolis is in Delaware and Gotham is in New Jersey. Also Jimmy revealing that he knew Clark was Superman felt very, uh, Invincible.

I love the blatant Gurren Lagann reference with the design of those Cadmus mutants.

Don't know if anyone else has commented on it, but in this series, if it seems as Clark gets beat so easily is because he's subconsciously put mental blocks that can affect his powers, even his ability to absorb damage. Because pain is in the mind, and Clark's mind is extremely powerful, so are the mental blocks. They were designed to keep him from overdoing it... Even when he's fighting very powerful foes, he's still very much holding back. Because he values life so much, he fears he will hurt, or even kill someone if he isn't careful. These mental blocks even make him think he needs oxygen to breath, or fatigue and he needs to sleep. I appreciate how much it's showcased here. Clark not knowing much of his past and where he comes from and why, plays a vital role in his decisions when it comes to using his powers, even when new ones are discovered. And I love how the show allows us to share in his discovery at the same time as they're happening, with the same enthusiasm and questions. As he questions why can he do those things, we question what else will we see him do next. This is such a fun and engaging series, and I believe can be enjoyed by everyone... Even for those who aren't even a Superman fan.

This show is so good. The imp episode was wild and fun. So many easter eggs. I love crossovers, so the them including not just a multiverse possibility, but all the different versions of superman and lois was awesome.

This series is just an absolute blast to watch! I do hope you guys will get into Young Justice sometime soon, I know Coy and John would love it! It's personally my favorite DC animated series I've yet to come across.

Mallah and the Brain are from the Brotherhood of Evil. From Doom Patrol. One might describe them as anti-villains...some of the time.

Loved all the Easter eggs in episode 7 and Mr. Mxyzptlk was a real delight and also I think he was a bit of a breath of fresh air since he is so far the only villain in the show to not be associated with the Kryptonian technology although I still think that Gilbert Gottfried is the definitive Mr. Mxyzptlk voice from Superman The Animated Series from the DCAU. I was a bit disappointed that at no point was the character defeated by saying his name backwards. I will say that probably my least my favourite aspect of the episode was the council of Lois Lanes, because I don't think it really makes sense for Lois as a character foundationaly only to lead such an organisation and I understand that this is a different interpretation but even from what they showed us of the other versions of Lois it didn't really indicate what would transition them from reportes to multiversal guardians. Also it felt a bit weird for Superman to learn of his Kryptonian heritage and mythos from alternate universe where that already happened.

Ep. 7 remains my favorite of Season 1 because of Mr. Mxyzptlk and the revealing of the DC Multiverse.

This show is so fun. LOVED the little easter eggs in the last episode you watched here.

BTW, the Telepathic horse is also a Superman character, he's Supergirl's horse Comet the Superhorse. and boy does he have an interesting backstory history. Also the evil Superman in white is the 90s Justice League animated series Justice Lords Superman.

42:23 _My Adventures with Superman_ is an example of a lighthearted story - an endangered storyteling style of incorparating humor into the narrative in appropriate amounts that is currently losing a battle for popularity against cringe-inducing Taika Waititi style, for the lack of a better term, of constantly throwing the narrative out of the window for as much humor per second as possible.

My theories: 1. League of Lois was cofounded by Superman. Superman has entrusted Kryptonite to other people in the event he goes evil 2. These Lois’s are from a universe with Evil Superman 3 out of infinity isnt a bad probability

The way Lois ends up staring at the ball, with bad the Supermen video, makes me wonder, "I Lois SO full of herself that she can't see, that in a multiverse. There would be bad versions of EVERYONE, including herself. Hell, there is probably a universe where Superman becomes evil, JUST because the evil Lois of his universe turns him." edit: Though I have a feeling, they are going to find out, ALL bad Superman, never met or lost their Lois.

That's an interesting concept of Lois not being kind of a spaz in one universe and totally calm and collected in the other. So if something bizarre happened and all her fans from spastic world saw her normal style and vice versa chaos would ensue then. Naturally. But then would that mean that Superman would be a weirdo in one or would he just have that green mullet and nothing else would be different for him????? 😮

When you guys mentioned Metropolis being in Delaware, there's a funnier and fitting one for Gotham. It's supposed to be in New Jersey. So Bruce is a Jersey boy.

Your guys' reactions popping up in my feed reminded me that this show had come out and I'm so glad it did! This show is so good, it's fun and light and heartwarming but also has some gutpunching moments. The score is awesome, all the VAs are killing it. Already watched 8 and 9, can't wait for the finale! I heavily prefer Mr. Mxy's design here. Since I was a kid, seeing his design, especially the most creepy one, was so repulsive and disturbing. Always hated his smile. Now, he's tolerable. XDD I didn't even realize it was the creepy MF till I saw your guy's reaction hahaha

In hindsight of the repulsiveness of his original design, it works because, well he's a creepy MF LOL. That and I don't know much of him besides his design and that he reality a warping being. Like Bat-Mite. I guess I still "didn't like him" because his design when I was a kid creeped me out and just did not want ever see his face, which in design (and maybe by purpose) was successful for its efforts. Plus, there are so many other villains that have creepier designs that I adore, like the Stapled Face Joker. It's just there is something about Mr. Mxy that just fucked with me when I was young. Once again, I'm not saying that this design is better, just tolerable to me. That and I'm not even the target audience for Mr. Mxy and not saying they should cater to people like me.
