I ordered this same engine and it's going to be here today. These things need a lot of work and maintenance and will teach you a lot of handy abilities. As I'm sure you already know. You can also cut off the tube on the muffler end cap and drill some holes in it to quiet it down a little instead of completely removing it.

The muffler is made for a 4-stroke engine..so its stiffness in your engine prevents it from breathing well..2t needs a good return flow of compression and not to be suffocated and if the muffler pierces yes it will compress

FYI, air being sucked into the engine anywhere except for the carb is a bad bad thing. If that air isn't coming through the carb that means it has no fuel mix in it.. and no fuel = no oil, and that's a sure fire way to burn up a piston.

The exhaust job at unscrew and remove the end cap that will make it louder but give ya a lot more power and as far as ya gear( sprocket) goes run a 42 but no smaller if ya want to keep ya torque pull power ..the more teeth the more power the less teeth better top end

To all the new builders out there I would highly reccomend looking into a used80's- 90's mountain bike off craigslist to build as they are much better quality than the chinese walmart bikes. If your patient you can find a very low mileage good bicycle for 50 bucks. I got my trek 930 for $70 then I found a really nice japanese used front wheel for 25 and a back wheel for 35 so all in a really good bike for $130 which is hard to beat. Put a yd100 motor kit for $140 and your riding a reliable setup for cheap that will last way longer than an aluminum frame.

@@Flight-Screen the main reason for me is the steel frame and the better components is a bonus. All aluminum frames eventually break

I agree with you. I’m a bike mechanic and have seen first hand how unsafe box store bikes can be. A lot of the ones I see around town are built on cheap frames with cheap components. I’ve decided to build my first motorized bike because I feel like I could do better than all the death traps I see around town. I think my donor bike will be an early 90’s Trek 750. So are aluminum frames a bad way to go? It makes sense since aluminum frames don’t have any flex in them.

@@darkstar92772 steel is just stronger and I'm a big guy so I'm not taking any chances. All aluminum bike frames will eventually break even without a motor, not a problem with a steel frame.

I put a motor on the EXACT SAME bike. My advice to you is that it's only a matter of time until the shitty tensioner that came with it fails and slacks your chain while you're riding; also be careful the vibrations don't shake the mount bolts loose and cause the same issue. Get a spring loaded tensioner and longer bolts that go in better. I ended up replacing the ones that came with it with machine bolts I "borrowed" on an extended loan from where I work and used the adapter plate on the BACK of it to make the muffler clear the pedal.

39:46, i think maybe some of the oil/fuel ratio numbers are wonky. I often see for *after* break-in period 1 ounce oil with 40 ounces gasoline recommended in many videos and forums. That's 2.5% percent of oil in gasoline solution. But I tend to use 1 ounce oil with 45 to 50 ounces gasoline.

I am some what familiar with dealing with the pitfalls of a two-stroke conversion kit whenever you want to get the most out of your motor rule number one is to always check the flower wheel to make sure that your clutch is set properly and not rubbing anything whatsoever until you want it to which is very important! to how efficient and/or fast your bike runs" and make sure that your spark plugs are set at the right distance apart from the electrode on the back of the spark plug and if you use the mini gas intake filter? remember to check it frequently like at least every 4 to 5 rides and never fall into the habit of riding your clutch for braking🚳unless you want to be changing them every four to five rides😉 that's just me exaggerating but I hope you find my input helpful because these are circumstances that I have actually been through and learned the hard way and benefited from and hope you won't have to good luck keep those videos 📽️coming 😊👍
