My 60 Minute Wash and Style Routine on Mini Braids | Guaranteed Week Long Moisture!

Hey everyone! In this video I'm showing you my wash and style routine on my mini braids in a way that gives me week-long moisture! Because mini braids are a lot easier to manage in general, my wash and style routine is not as long as when I don't have my hair in mini braids, so it's a great time saver!
I have DIYs that are coming soon on how I make my Malipe' butter, Shikakai shampoo, and Herbal Oil Mix that you see me use in this video for my wash and style routine soon, so stay tuned!
Thank you to all who have subscribed and have turned on their notifications so they won't miss anything around here! If you haven't already, go ahead and subscribe to be part of the fam! I'll see you in the next video!

Wow I'am new here but I have been doing mini braids for a few months. I take them out every 4-5 weeks and the growth is crazy! I just came from your older videos and your growth is insane! I love the the mini braids but I got tired of doing mine so small since it's getting longer I switched to medium size braids. Still I enjoy watching your routine!

Hi TheJazzySpot and welcome! It's awesome that you're doing mini braids, and thank you for checking out my content! I also have noticed recently that since my hair has been growing longer there's been some difficulty(especially with rebraiding, since it takes a lot longer now.) Mini braids are definitely great for growing out hair, but when your hair gets longer I agree that it's smart to make them bigger.

New subbie from London UK!!! I recently put mini braids in and planning to wear for 3-4 months. I am also a sister/braidloc Technician for the last 13 years. I will be doing a 2 point rotation to refresh my roots 2 twice-(every 6 weeks) ... Or so. Because I have had sister/mirco braid locs 4 TIMES... AND picked them out-once fully locked up to 3 years later & still had a full/thick head of hair after taking them out. I am confident about interlocking my braids and removing the interlocked section. WARNING: To those who maybe thinking of doing interlocking at the roots.. Be mindful that you need to be patient interlocking-it's very easy to make knots in your hair and or join braids at the roots together. It also tempting to tear fused loose stands apart to interlock the new growth-which will cause thining and effect your hair density. With taking the braids and the temporary locked roots down - be extremely slow, gentle in handling the hair. Also, moisture is the key (oil and water mix/a butter over the top) of the braids before the take down. AGAIN YOU NEED TO BE PREPARED TO TAKE DOWN YOUR BRAIDS OVER A SERIES OF DAYS (UP TO 7) so not to rip out your ends or hair at root level. Also, please be mindful of tight styling mini braids-aim not to put pressure the follicles-then you end up pulling them out from the scalp (seeing the white tip on the ends) thus causing scalp damage/pampering hair growth. Also... Sorry to go on & on... Just like our sister did.. Wash, deep condition and moisturising the hair on your wash days. Daily: scalp massages and for me daily... Or every 2-3 days moisture) I love mini braids.... Locs on me: ITS A (NAW... 44 now and I have tried the locking on and off for 16 years...) but love that I can wear what looks and feels similar to locs and then take them down. Plus, I can walk out on the rain etc and not worry about shrinkage. Sister, sister love your content!

Hi Be Still, thank you for subbing and I appreciate the information that you've given about your experience with locs and am glad that you're going to be doing mini braids for 3-4 months! Locs are beautiful and I love the different variations of locs that people can have, I however choose not to because I would miss being able to have my hair out too much, hence why I wear mini braids. I also love how taking care of locs like mini braids are for the most part very easy to take care of and I honestly didn't know you could have a full head of hair when taking down locs! I usually see people (or the people around me who have had locs) cut their hair and start from scratch, but I've recently noticed online that people do brush their locs out or take them down without cutting it all off! Thanks again for sharing information on taking care of locs and mini braids!
