Some eyedrops are designed in a way that the more you use it, the more frequent your eyes get red to keep you continue using and buying them for instant redness relieve.

My dad used redness relief drops daily for years and then his vision went bad and when he went to the doctor they said it’s from the drops and it’s permanent 😢

​@@DolledUpDaisy24 sorry to hear that about your dad. The way redness reducing eye drops work is they restrict the blood flow to those tiny vessels in the eye that are causing the redness. With continued use, you're essentially starving the eye of nutrients and oxygen. Not to mention it's a vicious cycle, the more you use the red-eye drops the more you will need to.

@@wikoowhoosh from my understanding, no it's not the same with drops for dry eyes. I believe it's just because the redness reducing eye drops achieve that white look in the eye by constricting the blood vessels in the eye. So make sure you are using ones specifically for dry eyes if you're worried.

FYI you’re not supposed to use those eye drops. everyday. My eye doctor said you will definitely have retinal damage if you do.

I think you're thinking of low dose pilocarpine which is marketed for presbyopia and can cause retinal detachment. She's using Lumify which is a different medication

My optometrist said Lumify is generally safe to use daily. She said that it’s possible for some people to develop an allergy to its main ingredient or the preservative in it but no, it won’t damage the retina. I specifically asked about Lumify because I use it almost every morning.

The filter is too much! Its hard to tell how the products work when it's so blurred. The thing is your skin is probably amazing so you don't need the filter

The eye drops are not only unnecessary but they also make your blood vessels constrict. The more you use them the more you need them.

Your welcome! Lumify will not damage your eyes or retina 😏 if used as directed. You may have other eye conditions, allergies or sensitivities that make lumify not a good option but she’s safe. You see Lumify isn’t the same as clear eyes or other whitening eye drops that cause dryness and a rebound effect which could lead to corneal damage. The active ingredient brimonidine is safe to use even better with a lubricating drop. Ask the doctor before starting if your concerned. Your eyes shouldn’t always be red so see a doctor to make sure the redness isn’t caused by something else. Otherwise let this lady use her eye drops.

I have chronic dry eye disease and inflammation I use lumifye genteel drops systane drops and zaaditor eye drops and 8 drops daily in eyes I would have had worse but my eyes need it to diagnosis of RRMS

I used to use eyedrops everyday for about 8 years because my eyes get so red when I wake up or just throughout the day. The drops I use is specifically to make eyes bright/white like what she's using. I became so dependent on those eyedrops. I got so self conscious and won't look at people if I forgot to bring it. About 2 years ago, I started to have a good skincare routine (vitamin c serum, resveratrol + ferulic acid, retinol, moisturizer, sunscreen etc). And I noticed my eyes were not as dry and it was no longer red or as tired. I was just so amazed and relieved. My routine not only helped my skin but also my eyes. ❤ So please, everyone, do not use eyedrops daily unless you were told otherwise by a doctor. Please, don't go follow influencers etc. I still use eyedrops but only for very dry eyes or I have allergies, an throw away after a day or 2. But never ever using these white/bright eyedrops. 🚫🚫🚫

I have a sling bag that's also might be Doraemon bag Phone,lip balm,wet wipes,tissue,charger bricks,usb b,usb type c,lightning wire,alcohol wipe,sunglasses,bottle opener,lighter,vape,pad,hair wax,a comb,2 Bluetooth earbuds. My sling bag wasn't evn that big,like a normal waist bag.

Eye whitening drops are for only occasional use ,over use can cause your eyes to be even more red.

I suffer from dry eye and get really red eyes but I stopped using eye drops as it was actually making them worse and I went to the opticians and they recommended to get a humidifier for night times and a heated eye mask and it’s helped to much!! I would recommend!!
