We have two duvets in Germany too. Takes so much stress out of your nights sleep (and by that your relationship🤭). I will never understand how people can share one. Everything is stress with them, even doing the laundry.😂

To each is there own, but I get my warmth from snuggling/spooning with my husband, skin to skin. Can’t do that with a blanket between us! It’s more intimate and therefore strengthens our marriage :) doesn’t mean your way, or my way is right we are all different and as long as you’re loving on each other and keep Christ in your marriage everything will keep getting stronger!

@@shell7142 You can definitely do that with two duvets.😉 But you'll also have the cool breeze if someone is turning around and you can't roll yourself into your own duvet. That means interrupted sleep and slightly anger because your partner stole your duvet.🤭 I mean, if you like it's ok. 😉 But you would freeze in a german (or northern european in general) cool wintery bedroom with a shared duvet.🤭

As far as I'm aware, it's a European thing. I was never in a country that didn't have double duvets. It just seems like an illogical thing not to have them - thus it definitely originates from America. xD Just like the weird metric system, weird watery "coffee" and the idea that walking around the house in shoes is somewhat cleaner than walking around in socks. :)

I have NEVER in my 61 years on this planet taken several weeks of vacation. And that is a terrible and sad comment about how stressed out we are here in the USA. And to think that I’ve been a nurse for 35 years and am now mandatorily not working because the arthritis in my body is so bad I can barely move. I was diagnosed with severely lax knee joints as a child, my knee dislocated while I was on stairs, I fell and ripped everything laterally and completely out of the joint. I then walked on it for a couple of weeks and finally saw an orthopedic surgeon. Had 3 of the most miserable, extremely painful surgeries at 10, 11 and 12. Never really fixed the problems. Had another 5 surgeries as an adult. Had 3 major back surgeries. Still need 2 total knees and 2 bunionectomies. Might need couple more neck/back surgeries. AND I CANNOT GET DISABILITY APPROVED YET!!!! Finally had 1 month of food stamps and had to send a ton more of documentation to Tennessee. After total of 10 hours on hold, I spoke to a person with a brain in her head and hopefully I’ll get my food stamps approved within the next 2 weeks. That gives me 292.00/month for food only. Can’t get any food for my dogs. Mind you I’ve been working at least 40 hours/week since I was age 18 and worked part time from 14-17. Nothing I’m asking for is money I haven’t already paid into the system. And nursing is where I was broken down severely - moving 600 lb+ patients who won’t lift a finger, pushing patients by myself in a bed or stretcher to get them from the ER or PACU to their hospital room or to the X-ray department. Walking miles per 12-14 hour shifts. Cleaning people up by myself because there’s no one to help. The glamorous world of nursing. And yet, I do miss it.

Thank you. That explains why my mom, a former RN, sat down on my couch 8 years and never got back up to work again (with no pension or savings, mind you, except my graciousness supporting her). Still a little frustrating since it's MY living room she's taken over, but I get it. And no, I've never taken more than 5 workdays off at one time either.

I might live in a red state but I don’t have a red mind set. Yup I’m a democrat living in an incredibly beautiful beautiful state. My children, my dogs and I moved here 9 years ago from another red state Florida (can you say hot and humid 99% of the time?) so we could actually have 4 seasons. And we were able to do a lot of hiking in a lot of beautiful areas. But I could have thrown a rock and hit a church in just about any direction when I lived in Kingsport and now that I live in Bean Station I can throw a rock and hit a republican in any direction!

Americans on the political left think this is how everyone in Europe lives. That they work 30-35 hours a week in a low stress job, never worry about essentials, spend 6 weeks a year on amazing holidays, etc. If you shop at the European style grocery stores in the US like Aldi and Lidl, good food is relatively inexpensive.

+1 for reality check. One thing we also do in Sweden is cook most of our meals at home. It's pretty expensive to eat out even if you have an ok income. And what is shown in this video is waaaay too expensive for the average person to do.

@littleceasar9351 My grandfather who was Irish descent drank smoked and lived a long life also coughed for an hour before his first cigarette of the day. He was bedridden from a stroke as well. Had he not had those habits, he probably would have felt much better in his latter years. He was still breaking horses in his 80s though.

It’s no different in North America. Honestly people make it what they want to. I’ve never had any problem. I get two days a month paid time off. If that’s not enough I don’t know what to tell you. I can afford plenty of healthy, fruits and vegetables and I’m a single parent of five children, I’m a widow in my early 30s and my job pays us and encourages us to do all sorts of things for wellness so I don’t know who these people are or where they’re having issues but I have worked for all sorts of different entities in the United States never had a problem
