Nice! We were there at Frascati and Tivoli last summer. Yes! Villa D'Este is very beautiful. 3 weeks holiday in Italy. We stayed at my cousin's house in Guidonia. Hopefully, we can go back there. How I love Italy!

Rome at Christmas is wonderful. more popular than people think with all the Italian European and Italian tourists. So Naples was not you favorite. I guess it is kinda an acquired taste. The more times you spend there the more you really appreciate it. I just love the culture in Naples. In my opinion it has the best food in all of Italy and the people are great. I appreciate your comments. Thanks

Thank you for this video. Perfect information for my next, and probably last, trip to Italy which I'm planning now. You included a couple of the towns I was considering so perfect timing! Grazie!

The 2 towns that make most sense to base from outside of Rome are Fascati and Tivoli. If you have a car and want to visit all of the Casteli Romani towns it makes a great option. If you are looking for a great small town with lots to see and do and easy access to Rome, Tivoli is perfect. If you do plan on staying in Tivoli the Airbnb I mentioned really is ideal!

@@RozierRoma Thank you! I did visit Tivoli as a day trip from Rome in 2005. Villa d'Este was a highlight of the entire trip and I liked Hadrian's Villa too. I would return if a friend joins me for part of the time in Rome and they want to go. Frascati was on the radar for a couple quiet recuperation days. Coming from the Rocky Mtn. states is not that easy and it's long......flight(s). Any lodging recommendations there? Grazie mille.

While there are some really good thing to see in Naples I like best just roaming through the Center Historical area, walking through the Spanish district and eating tons of food. The best food in all of Italy in my opinion. You can take the tram up the hill from the city center area and get great views of the city, Vesuvius, and there is a neat castle to tour up there. You can walk long the bay and most important eat the best pizza in the world! Naples is a huge city so it is also easy to get lost and maybe run into something unexpected. If your expectations are low and you like really nice people you may just fall in love with Naples. It is a city more about the culture that the sites for sure. If you want a very entertaining meal eat at Nennella. All inclusive 3 course meal and entertainment 16 euros.

I have never been there. I did look it up on the map and saw that is located about halfway to Naples along the coast. It looks like more of a town for a quick day trip than a overnight, but I could be wrong if you’re looking for a place to stay a couple of nights with lots of Sandu, give Tivoli a shot.

  • @RozierRoma

The best way is to take a train to Orvieto, a little over an hour and then a taxi to Civita di Bagnoregio. There are busses at the Orvieto train station but they do not run very often. If you take the bus there is still about a 30 minute walk from stop to town.
