I hate to say it Josh, but I have to agree with you. CONMEBOL takes this competition very seriously and passionately. Canada is coming is an outsider with very little experience outside of CONCACAF. If we get through the group, that’s a massive accomplishment

It would indeed be a massive accomplishment - one Canada is capable with some basic tactics. There is little working in Canada's favour here, but the fact that south american football is quite 'open' is one thing that does.

Wow, this is the first video where I see someone predicting Colombia reaching the final. I am thankful for your confidence, I hope we get to do big things this year. The team has been working hard building a game identity and so far it has paid well. Nestor Lorenzo has said he has been working on the mental part of the team as they are one of the most talented sides yet they historically collapse under pressure (KO matches). It is quite refreshing to someone doing an analysis that takes into account the current situation of the players and national teams to make predictions. It is quite boring to see everyone making predictions based on household names and head-to-head records to say at the end that the final will be the typical Argentina-Brazil or Argentina-Uruguay. I definitely think we will see interesting things happening, at the end, matches must be played, nothing is granted. No one expected Brazil and Uruguay to have a group stage exit in 2016 Copa America (also played in the States) so who knows.

Yes, Chile is looking very good. Will be very tough for Canada to get what they need there (a draw). However, even with Biello taking us into the tourney, I think Peru remains very beatable. I don't underestimate the significance of it being a CONMEBOL tourney. Canada won't get any favorable ref'ing, and Peru will tactic us to death, but Canada can score and Peru are showing themselves to be wholly incapable of any finishing. If we can manage to get through Netherlands, France and Argentina without Eustaquio overworking himself to injury like the WC, we should expect to get a result against Peru.

Josh your predictions are very sound. I do think Canada could be good enough to make a deep run, if only they could get their act together. But I agree there is NO SIGN that they positioning themselves to that. They need a strong manager, they need the politics behind them, and they need to stop wasting their time on players who are not ready. But most of all, they need to start getting full value from all their stars. Frankly, Davies, Buchanan, David, Eustaquio and others are all putting in disappointing appearances. Laryea is about the only one putting in 110%, and he's injured.

There's no way Canada survives their group, man. It is a "group of death" for any CONCACAF team.

Liked your predictions, but as for Colombia's goal - Ospina will most likely be benched. Vargas is Lorenzo's no. 1 and seems more solid choice recently.

Like Orlandozoli, I agree with most of your analysis and predictions, but I, too, see Uruguay making it to the final. They are quick, disciplined, hustle, and they handed Argentina their only loss in the last year, so have as good a shot as anyone of going all the way. Brazil is the real question mark - they didn't play well in 2023, but in this sport, things can change much from year to year, so who knows how they will fare?

Tournaments are very different. I don't see Uruguay keeping the momentum through. I think they'll be eliminated on penalties at some point.
