Cheer up and stay positive! I’m a big believer in clearing out negative energy, so that the positive things can come in. Can also take a look at feng shui or adding a Chinese name that can help boost your career (also a feng shui thing). The lunar new year is coming so good luck in 2024!

Hi there, accidentally found the video recommended after watching vids about renovating HK small apartments heh.. Not sure if it matters but I didn’t find my groove in Hong Kong until I was 34-35 and I’m bang on 40 now. I can tell you’re going through a rough patch, anxiety from money issues as I went through the same thing starting up a bootstrapped business here so I totally empathise. hope you find the thing you’re looking for sooner rather than later - and try (sometimes hard) to be hopeful of something in the short medium and long term to keep yourself focused. Best of luck (from a fellow half english guy)

Plz Don’t buy expensive camera when you’re broke. Your videos are great ! I really appreciate your sharing ups and down. One more important thing, just because those types of videos get high views ,doesn’t mean you should go for those. What makes you stand out is that you are unique in sharing struggles, finding solutions to problems in your daily life… not apartment tours… I hope you express yourself freely and I will support you and you don’t need to be rich to do that. ❤

Yes exactly. With living prices constantly going up and salaries remaining the same. It’s hard to live comfortably. I can only show an average lifestyle 😂

You’ll go through this believe in yourself!! Stay hopeful and you’ll get job interviews!!! And like what other comments say, try going outside and nature truly helps!!! And maybe try out meditating it’s good for your mental health❤❤❤

My suggestion would be to leave HK and get a fresh start with new opportunities.

Try and do what a hk KZreadr is doing. She is also a model and you look prettier.

I would being nervous if unemployed… Maybe doing part time tutor first? At least having some income first

I don’t think it’s wise to buy the new camera until your income flow is steady and you have firm direction in where your KZread channel is going. You previously stated to us that you were going to make more consistent content but that didn’t happen. Your channel at the moment is too general. I hope you take this as constructive criticism and not hate because right now, I just see someone floating with no direction. Good luck.

@@lazyhusband Hi, no problem no offense taken. The reason why I need to buy a new camera asap is because I want to film outside. For a very long time I've wanted to film outside the house but I couldn't because my camera can't attach an external mic. I have been waiting for my gut to heal and to be able to buy a camera so I can do more food related, cultural, interview style videos. That's actually the direction I'm heading. I know a lot of KZreadrs have their niche and one topic style content. Although this would be easier, I actually like the fact that my channel covers different topics. It has been difficult for me to upload regularly because I want to create content with meaning and not just upload for the sake of uploading. Also quality is very important to me. I do believe that buying a new camera will benefit my channel and make me upload more frequently. This way I don't always have to be in my house. Hope you understand 🙏

@@KiekoM Here’s an idea and it’s just an idea. Offer to be a daily tour guide for couples visiting HK. They would allow you to film to showcase HK and your service. You could make money for the tour and it would be a great way to get your name/channel more visible on KZread.

That's a good question. I should ask why next time. But here's what I think... and it's just a guess. I'm mainly casted for Asian roles. I've noticed since 2020 not many eurasians are in advertisements especially if they don't speak Cantonese. I'm assuming a lot of directors/production companies would rather work with Cantonese speakers. A lot of jobs I do get, the client, director, team can speak good English. Yes I should learn Cantonese but it will probably take me around 5 years to become fluent. Also the economy is bad so prices have lowered. A lot of local KOLs are willing to take jobs for cheap. In the end Full time models like me miss out on jobs or we have to lower our rate by a lot.

@KiekoM I guess it's tough. Doubt they will tell you exactly why. You probably need to tap on the gossips to find out the real reason. I have no experience with advertising and modeling, though I believe jobs you had before should still be available to you with or without Cantonese fluency. Have you considered modeling in Singapore? Same kind of society like HKG, but mainly English speaking.

@carchasingx Your comment is probably from a Westerner , here in India , Phillipines , Thailand poverty is no joke , we use every advantage we have to climb out of the slums to help ourselves and our families. We don't have the luxury of choice. You have a brain use it , you born beautiful use it.
