Hey again WW, I regret to inform you that I did not take your advice seriously enough about cutouts, overleaning and wheel safety. I had an overlean cutout due to the air being colder than usual here in Phoenix as well as traveling at high speed for double the distance I was used to. 35mph on my gotway MSX 84V. Because I was wearing the proper gear (full face mips helmet, full body leatt 3df shorts and jacket, wrist guards gloves, knee pads) I was able to escape with no injuries. My outer layer of clothing was ripped to shreds but I was completely fine. Thank you so much for giving us new riders the necessary life saving advice. I will not ride with anyone who does not have a full face helmet

Adam, your videos just keep getting better as you go. Always enjoy your in depth detailed assessments without bias.
Hey Adam! Just wanted to let you know that I started watching your videos about a year or two ago-maybe longer-and you, kuji, chooch, and a few others are the reason I am riding my begode master, today. Thank you for inspiring me to chase this amazing hobby. I am on 50-100miles into my journey-so still a newbie-but I hope to start making videos of my own, very soon. I also wanted to wish you a happy holidays, and who knows, maybe someday in the future, we can ride together. Thanks again for inspiring me to chase my dreams. Merry Christmas, buddy.

Monocycle is the one I've been using. Cheers Adam.
Awesome vid as always Adam. I'd just like to add the Nikola AR+ as an honorable mention to the mid-high category! Performance-wise it outcompetes or matches every wheel listed in that category (falling comfortably in between the v12HT and HS models in terms of torque and speed), has excellent durability/waterproofing, better range than any of those wheels by far, and in spite the "Begode" logo on the handle, one of the best track records in terms of reliability. It is slightly more expensive than the other wheels listed in this category (though similar to the v12HT), and a little harder to get ahold of perhaps since it's sold only by one retailer. But it's probably the most well-made Begode/Gotway wheel ever and worth seeking out!
Good Stuff Adam! ✨✅✨You’re Awesome! Happy Holidays
Informative !! Great video and thanks for telling me all the things I wanted your opinion on
Thanks for summarizing your thoughts on all these wheels.
Great review, Adam! I hope you will make another in this format in 2023. The Begode EX.N HS is still very competitive in racing in 2022 (e.g., Amped Electric Games and Apple Valley Speedway), and I think it is worthy of an honourable mention in this category.

Hi Adam, I like this list and the three wheels sitting in my garage are on it. The only thing I would have added is that the Master Pro, besides being the best long-range wheel, also has suspension.
Great stuff, love this one. I have outgrown my KS-14D and am working towards my next wheel. I will be doing some road riding (15kms to the train) and riding in the city, including on sidewalks. Based on this and other videos, I'm hovering between the Begode T4 and the KingSong S22. I wish there was somewhere to test ride in Victoria, Australia.
As usual great content Adam 😊 used to have a non-electric unicycle when I was teenager just remember having sore balls all time 😵💫 I think I'll stick to the electric unicycle now😅

Adam Bunyon!
I've had several of the wheels on this list. 16S was my starter wheel and it was good and the shell was sturdy. Great trolly handle. I now have the Sherman max and the ride is nice, but there has always been a battery problem and it's taken my months to get it worked out. The new pack will be coming . . . . soon, I am promised. Maybe this was an anomaly, but for this reason, it was a big disappointment and quite difficult getting the replacement part. Despite having a bad reputation for any number of reasons, my go-to has been the Begode RS. The batteries never gave me any problems and were replaced during the recall. It's even better with the replacement batteries. The V11? Yes, it's a pogo stick and the tire is a huge pain in the rear to repair/replace.
disappointed you didn't mention the ninebot z10 :( its a workhorse of a wheel. i still love mine. fits perfectly in that small / medium sized wheel category. i was the guy that offered my z10 to you at Amped :D
I got the racing wheel 😁 Next year I'm either getting the Master Pro or whatever new comes out from Begode. That is the best wheel in the world in my opinion.
Thank you so much for making this video. I have never rode a e.u.c. before. But with all the reviewing I have done. I believe I am going with ur recommendations for the ks18xl. I feel like it will be light and nimble enough to learn the skills I need and strong enough so that I don't out grow it b4 I'm ready to upgrade! Can't wait till I purchase this thing!
Many thanks Adam, a great video as always…much enjoyed. So, have you moved to Vancouver permanently, or are you there for a work contract? Whatever, the scenery there is quite spectacular…But then again, Poland is wonderful as well. 👍
Analog unicycle. Lol. I have two from my nerdy highschool years and even young adult years. They are great but are now just dust collectors after going digital.
Another awesome video!
What is the top speed on the unicycle? Pro tip: Tell chatGPT what your requirements and budget are and it will find the perfect wheel for you in about 3sec. It came up with Kingsong S18 for me. It did not, however, specify what colour I should get. Decisions, decisions.
Great video thank you sir!
Had the V12 all summer long with the updated mobo. No cut outs. it was a great wheel but the wheel was squirmy above 40kmh. I couldn't bend my knees or the wheel would start to wobble. Had to lean forward with straight legs to ride above 40kmh without wobbling. I'm 183cm 180lb.

I didn't have that. I'm 186cm 75kg.
Thanks for the recommendations. I bought a V8F back in August 2021. I'm an old guy, almost 71 years old now, just a hobbyist, about 80 km a month, short rides, 5 to 11 km on private streets or a nearby bike trail. I'm in decent shape and work out with free weights. On the V8F, I have to lean gently at 20 to 25 kph to limit peak current around 20 amps (average around 5 amps). If I see it get close to 25 amps, I adjust. I was thinking about V10F, but the fuse only increases from 30 amps to 40 amps, despite going from V8F 20S2P to V10F 20S4P battery pack, and speed increases less than 5 kph. Next step up would be 18L (20S4P), but USA dealers don't sell it much, just the 18XL (20S6P), which is overkill for the range I use. S18 would be nice, but maintenance is very high. I'm not sure what to consider, and how difficult it would be to learn to ride a medium size wheel compared to my V8F.
@wesleyson21

If you're willing to buy used I'm actually looking to sell my 18L with about 750 miles on it. In my experience once you know how to ride an EUC switching wheels is only about how each one performs/feels.

Thanks! What are your recommendations for best/ most comfortable seated riding?
I'm perhaps too old (40) but I had a Kingsong 18xl and I think if you are looking for a long range Wheel you should choose a wheel with suspension. There is no comparison in comfort and security, because you get tired, if your legs take all the bumps. I would take a T4 (2000€) to a 18xl (1650€) every time (18xl except the pedals is all plastic). If you don't have the budget take a 16x or better wait.
Completely disagree with your opinion of InMotion. I know you had a bad experience but I have 5000km on a v12ht and it's been brilliant. They have an IP rating unlike other wheels. Not discounting the issues with early batches but all manufacturers have had problems.
@whatsupbudbud
Жыл бұрын
I had V12 HS which had a pedal fail on me while riding at 50km/h on a pretty smooth road (stress fracture at the four screws), so yeah - it's an awesome wheel but not perfect and the manufacturer's response was that "I used the wheel incorrectly". I'm just 75 kg's... I now own an V11 and, though the manufacturer has since incorporated the bearing seal that was available on 3d print sites (made by community), they still advertised the V11 as having an IP rating when, in fact, people were getting bearing issues as fast as riding in rain for two days.
Love the video ❤😊
Thanks Adam, I had to stop the video frequently to take notes. Perhaps a tabulated format would help?
Sherman S would be good if: - change pedal hangers to shorder, as on crash, you can easily broke hangers and you'll need to change whole battery side. - the same stock pedals is realy not impressing, needs to be replaced to smth we like - trolley should be much more sturdy for sure - front light.. well its ok for Sherman Max users, but imo V11 is the best light arround (maybe v12 too) Summarising - from the box you'll need about additional 500-600$ anyway to use it comforly (pedals, pads)
I was so close to ordering a Sherman Max to upgrade from my RS, but then the Sherman-S was announced. I never got around to ordering a Sherman Max, but my Sherman-S has shipped and I just have to wait for its slow trip to New Zealand to be completed.

Adam, can you tell me which one accelerates faster and easier - the Max or the S? I get the impression that the Max is better in this regard and therefore more of a fun wheel for this riding style.

The amount of universal praise from "influencers" for Sherman-S (a not really available product) makes me very paranoid about it. Reminds me S20 story a bit, and S22 is still not a finished product out-of-the-box.
Nice to have you note “Not made in China”. We need an EUC
I have some basic skills on an 'analog' unicycle (love that term!). I pull mine out of the garage once/month or so for a spin around the neighborhood. Would you say having ridden a uni for awhile would help on learning to ride an EUC?
@monowheeling
Жыл бұрын
Most definitely yes. I have seen several manual monocyclists riding the EUC _first try_ and it's the only group of people I have seen doing this consistently.
great video .one question - KS 16X gets higher than T4 (with suspension ) - how can it be being the T4 got your runner up for the suspension category ? we are now in 2022 where suspension takes over the market - can it still be a "category" ? another question is the MTEN4 - you recommend this to below 10 year kids . in the reviews online everyone says it's a very hard wheel to ride on - harder than any other wheel because of the small wheel - how can such hard to ride wheel be recommended to kids ?
@ww-pw6di
Жыл бұрын
If it's similar to learning on mten3, then it's hard to learn to ride for an adult, especially larger ones, while for someone small/young it's actually a lot easier on a small wheel.
You see how much has changed with EUCs in the last year, and the speed of these changes. Can't imagine what your 2023 recommendations will be.
What kind of cut outs did you get on the V12? I just got one and I'm following up your videos to disassemble it.
I'm interested in getting a wheel, I'd like suspension, offroading ability and good range. Would the T4 be ok for a new rider, or Sherman s? I don't want to have to buy 2 wheels, one to learn on and sell then also the wheel that does what I wanted in the first place
As an outside observer looking at euc progression over the last 3 years things seem to be progressing slowly, I would of expected more reliability and water proofing to be standard by now to broaden their appeal to more than just enthusiasts. I love the idea of them but for the money they want I expect something headache free for a couple years at least...What are people doing to stop their wheels getting nicked or does everyone just wheel it with them when they go shopping because they cost to much to leave outside?
Good update. EUCs still have a long way to go. I wish another country could give China a run for their money. Cheers
Thanks!
I've been trying to decide what makes cornering so effortless and balanced on my 18XL compared to my 16X and V12. Is it just the 18" tire? The tire thickness? Because the other wheels are comparatively top-heavy? The fact that I have hundreds of more miles on my 18XL than the other two combined? I want to love my V12 so badly but I just can't reach the same level of "oneness with the wheel" as I can with my 18XL.
@mr_wrongway
Жыл бұрын
The 18XL is phenomenal because of couple of reasons - Slim Body - Low placed pedals give stability - Light Weight at around 20 kg - Great weight distribution - 2.5 inch tire gives less train tracking Just to name a couple main reasons

Lmao I love the bonus category!!!
Can’t recommend t4 due to batch 1 issues. Recommends Sherman-s before batch 1 is even out 😂 I don’t think any roundup targeted and new riders (like this video) should include ANY batch 0 or batch 1 wheels.
@mr_wrongway
Жыл бұрын
Bearing issues are pretty common and pretty much every wheel might go through them and eventually it gets fixed. The t4 had the stator slippage which is more severe but I still recommended it in the video, just not as the main candidate :D There’s a fair point to what you say and I agree, the Sherman-S so far among all testers has received nothing but praise but I also put a disclaimer on that.
Since you put some focus on IP rating for the various wheels, are Inmotion wheels really IP rated or is it just something that they say? Certifying an IP rating is a pretty expensive processing and I'm skeptical if they actually did that or if it is just a false claim which in that case it shouldn't be a benchmark for EUC at all. With that said Inmotion usually have good water resistance but any claim of IP rating should be able to be backed up with a certification.
@RonnieRides
Жыл бұрын
For example the V11 was rated IP55 when it came out, this "rating" was for the whole wheel, yet many people (myself included) had problems with bearings and motor after riding in rain/wet surroundings, my personal one broke after 2 days riding /after/ it had rained (i.e. wet ground), later they fixed this problem by putting a seal around the bearings which was first developed as a community solution, obviously this means that the wheel wasn't properly tested and that the IP55 claim was bogus.
@mr_wrongway
Жыл бұрын
It’s a very fair point. I don’t think those Chinese certified IP ratings are that good as you’ve noticed. Fun fact veteran I think might have ip ratings in some of their marketing materials but it’s so implausible I don’t even look at it. Same with 5000 lumen lights at Begode
@whatsupbudbud
Жыл бұрын
@@mr_wrongway At the risk of being the devil's advocate, Chinese headlamps and such have much higher count of lumens than the European store-bought equivalents. There is a reason for this as having too many lumens on pedestrian roads is blinding the oncoming pedestrians, cyclists, etc. This is a major issue with euc's as well as cyclists and e-scooters. Only the V11 has, in my experience, a proper front light fixture that isn't blinding others.
Very underrated wheel is Begode Tesla T3. Tiny small wheel (like V8F) but plenty of power (2000W motor, I did 4500W no problem), speed and range (1500Wh like 18XL :-D) is just amazing. This is my pocket rocket city wheel. It is well sealed and quite durable (I had cutout at 58km/h and the wheel has just minor scratches), so far I have 4200km and 0 problems. I also have V12 HT - amazing wheel, but I really doubt that it has no cell balancing. Do you have any source for this information?
@mr_wrongway
Жыл бұрын
Hey there! I actually indeed to include it in the video but just the quality of it is a bit squeaky (depends on model) and Begode tends to have variability in the production process so some might arrive with issues. It does have cell balancing like all Begode wheels :) it’s just that the packs don’t communicate with the board and there’s the hot charge port. More reasons why I didn’t include it. When it works though it’s great! So fun!

There’s some rumours of kingsong s22 having their slider suspension revised with rollers from factory for 2023 batch. The current suspension is a major flaw to the s22 since it gunks up and doesn’t absorb bumps as much as it’s supposed to. There’s a lot of aftermarket fixes but you’ll be spending a few hundred dollars to fix something that should’ve been fixed from factory.

MSX probably, or even better the Nikola. However I'd recommend improving the MSX water resistance, if that's important for you. Nikola is fine from factory.

@@Hacker4748 Nikola+ (100V 1800/1845Wh version) is simply the next level. It's on par with the V12 I'd say. Nikola 84V version is very nice too, if only it's the 1600Wh version. Avoid the half battery 800Wh version, it's too small.

Interesting, i am curious, is there a mid to high end unicycle with like +/- 70km\hr max speed, 150km hr range with ip rating? Thanks in advance

150km and 70 km/hr means you'll probably be looking at top end wheels in the $3k+ range. At least right now. As for mid-high end, the Nikola AR+ and EXN are probably going to be the closest match for you. EXN used to be the performance king, and is still quite decent. Top speed is around 70km/hr, and you could probably eek out at least 100km+ if you ride at bicycle speeds. It's on sale at a lot of places right now too. Downsides are that there is virtually no waterproofing and the shell breaks pretty easily if you crash. The Nikola AR+ is a less powerful, smaller wheel but it's still quite fast (60-65km/hr top speeds) and has similar range. Great waterproofing and legendary durability though. It's only sold from Alien Rides (hence the "AR") and they're currently sold out, but I believe they were having a pretty decent sale on this wheel recently too.
How about most safe euc category? Charging, cut outs etc
may i ask you something, i have begode master v4, but my wheels will feel unbalanced when i reach 48kmph. Which part should I check and fix. until now I don't dare to speed up to more than 50kmph
Adam, whats your job? You was born in poland? You have good english language. Are you studied in usa?
I really hope Kingsong opts for a higher capacity battery for the S22 in the coming year.
As for King Song 14D, there's also 14S with twice the size of battery. :) I wonder if King Song has plans to introduce 14' line successor (fingers crossed for possible suspension), because these wheels are getting quite old (at least compared to more often updated higher leveled wheels) and some fresh up would be cool. I am going to buy 14S at incoming spring as my first wheel, but i have a dillema whether to wait for some announcement regarding potential successor.

So when you say no passive balancing it's still balances the cells during charging right?

I have found intersting Pads they call ECOBOT FLEX PAD they are flexible Powerpads can you test them pls?
I'd avoid the OneWheel GT since it's impossible to fix it yourself.
I'm so excited for my Sherman S. Been riding a V11 for a year and it definitely is showing it's age with the suspension. Expected to arrive at the end of December Also, only paid 3,300 USD so there are definitely ways to get it cheaper.
