    I would recommend getting pre-approved on your next purchase. Getting PA will be more transparent with the interest rate. I got a 3.99 through the dealership/Capital One which I thought was too high for my credit score. You may get approved for a lower interest rate but the dealership will give you a slightly higher rate since that’s another way they can make money. One thing to note is that your vehicle is considered new if your under 7k miles so you can refinance your vehicle with a different credit union under a new car auto loan interest rate. At least this is true with Navy Federal. I recommend navy federal and their GAP is only $400. I refinanced and got a 2.29 two months after my purchase. I’ll never let the dealership finance me again after this experience tbh.

    You have the 3.92 rear axle… definitely drops the mileage… my first had the 3.21, second had 3.92, current has 3.21 & FOR SURE, the 3.21 gets at least 2-3mpg better overall… at 70mph, 3.92 tach was around 2k rpm…3.21 sits about or under 1,500 rpm. Just an FYI ✌🏼

    Exactly right. The features and tech on the ram are right up to date with the current technology out there. GM is way behind on tech and interior design. I’d try to consign your truck though or sell it private, the dealership won’t give you much on trade in

  • @f143744
    @f1437443 жыл бұрын

    You’re upside down on every vehicle, and there’s no easy way out. Rule of 78 started in yep, 1978 changed the way you pay back loans. Since then you pay more in interest up front than principal, before it was a 50/50 split. You can’t sell the Ram, you’re only in a long term Rental. The Chevrolet on the other hand, you Owned... literally and financially. Service plans separate you from your money, for very little return. Another problem you have, and you don’t know it, 2WD. That’s going to hit you again, like a ton of bricks...

    Who's going to tell him he's still paying interest, just triple the rate? Since a lease isn't a true loan, they don't have the disclose how much they're charging you to operate the truck. Use a simple financial calc and look at your buyout amount to determine what you're truly paying for. Definitely outweighs whatever you think you're saving in taxes. At least if you own, you can sell the truck back for market value. Instead with the lease, you're paying depreciation and high interest. Yikes.

And pay cash for it...

    The taxes are nothing compared to money you lost on the trucks and all mods you pretty much gave away.....over 10k easily......I kinda think you had to lease to offset the huge hits you were already taking.....and that 6k down is gone...theirs taxes right there...... Dude I hope you learned something....I was young and did stupid shit so can't blame you

    All I can say is wow. Maybe you should have someone else doing your financial buying of vehicles. To say because you lease your going to pay MSRP is just stupid. You only got basically 2k off MSRP but you didn't do any searching. Keep a vehicle instead of flipping them in less than 3yrs to get ahead. So many things wrong with this video.

    I don't know who this comment is for, but if you're on the fence about doing this please, don't. This video is a masterclass on how to financially ruin yourself. If you even just leased a Tacoma and put the 400-600 per month you'd save into a low cost index fund (search Vanguard VTSAX), Roth IRA or 401k, from what you're saving per month just to drive a vehicle you don't even own, you'd be a millionaire by the time you're in your 50s. This isn't just "making financial mistakes" - this is crucifying your financial future. This guy is rolling 5 figures of negative equity into a lease only to blow money on wraps, lift kits, tires, and other mods. Please, please, if you're young and read this, read this www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Getting_started, go to /r/personalfinance or watch The Moneyguy Show, and at least learn the basics so you know what you're sacrificing if you do this. You do only live once, but you'll live long enough to be scraping the bottom of your social security checks if you don't make better decisions today. I appreciate Mark's honesty here, I do. But how casual he presents this absolutely brutal financial wreck doesn't make it any less of a disaster. This is really, really, really, reall bad, and I hope at least one person reads this comments, looks up the resources I mentioned above, and starts making better decisions today. 80%+ of millionaires are people who in their 20s and 30s invested 300-600 bucks a month. Please be that person, not the guy that finds himself with ruined credit, no chance of ever retiring, and bouncing from high interest loan to high interest loan. Mark, it's not worth it. You're killing yourself, man. Sell this truck. Life comes at you fast, and if you keep doing this, you'll find yourself in your 40s with a negative net worth, and while your friends who drove Tacoma SR5's are buying new homes and flying business class for their yearly Europe trip, you'll be calculating how to stretch things until your next paycheck.

    You are correct. I do hope this helps someone to realize how stupid jumping for loan to loan to lease is. People need to stop competing with the Jones’ you will always loose. If you can’t pay cash for a car you can’t afford it. This is coming from a guy that’s 40, and owns his own home. (Well ok I still have a bit left on the loan, but it’s under $30k left on our $450k house) we have a 2018 4runner, and a 2019 ram mega cab Cummins 3500. And I have the title on each and owe the bank nothing. This is because I saved and drove junk for years. I saved and saved that “car payment” until I could pay cash. My retirement is maxed out, and we do what we want and pay cash. We always run out of month before we even touch that months paycheck. I really wish people would get smart.
