The 66 Chevelle SS is now reproduced under the AMT name and is currently available at Hobby Lobby. If you catch it on a sale week, you can get it for about $22. (40% off)… They upgraded the molds, decals, and quality. It has very similar box are as the Lindberg kit, but red… Nice build…

Don't leave the body after painting out in the sun for too long. I did and the hood warped. You live and you learn.

I agree. I built a '55 chevy for a friend, modeled after his full size car. He displayed the model in his back window at a car show, left for 4 hours, and when he came back, the side of the model had melted and was distorted. A sad thing to see after a months work.

Do you sand your models before you paint , if not your paint won't stick as well because where it's shiny paint doesn't stick as well , I noticed in the video you kept mentioning that you bumped the edges and the paint came off and I was thinking that might be the reason .

I do sand my models. I had to re-watch the vid to see what you were referring to. That issue was the "68 I brought back into the vid to vent my disappointment of applying floor polish with a brush. The "68 has sharp edges on the profile that I did not sand (ease) prior to painting. I also did not apply enough paint coats. The '68 was #2 of the 6 models I have built. The later model videos show my continued progression or (lack thereof) in my painting endeavors. Thanks for the comment.
