Mike this video was fantastic. What an amazing collection of 55 Dodgers memorabilia. This video was not long enough for me. Your room is like a museum. What a fantastic collection. The Gil Hodges and Jackie Robinson signatures were my favorites. The Frank Sinatra music at the beginning was so enjoyable to listen to. It is such a great song. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my, Mike, what an amazing video! Your room looks like a museum and is beautiful. What a vast collection of Dodger autographs you've amassed. There are only so many ways I can tell you how impressed I am. Those SI covers are great. It looks like you have every player from the 55 team. I know you need some coaches and front office personnel still but this is just great. The opening song brought a tear to my eye. I cannot imagine being a 12 year old boy and seeing the Dodgers leave for LA. The Atari's version of Boys of Summer with all the photos is a great recap and brought a small to my face. Simply beautiful. Well done, my friend!

Thanks Rick! A twelve year old's whole identity in the 50's was the sports team he rooted for, so watching the Dodger's leave Brooklyn would have been like losing a limb...just a terrible, terrible thing. It can now be told: I was originally going with the original Don Henley version of "Boys of Summer" to end the video, but it would have made the video blocked in almost every country...apparently you don't mess around with Don or the Eagle's versions of songs. Thankfully it had been a hard choice between him and the Atari's so it ended working out well when I had to change it (just a little editing of the photos to fit for a shorter time length). Thanks again for your very kind words. It means a lot to me!

I watched every second of this delicious video, Mike! Quick backstory- early this morning after the family had gone to bed I was streaming cardmunity videos when the complete TV broadcast of game 7 of the 52 WS from Ebbets field came on. Even though it was in black and white- seeing everything in 2D like that- I was mesmerized. I’ve been to Wrigley many times- never to Fenway but Ebbets equivalent to both on “steroids”! Time Machine not withstanding/ that broadcast was the closest I’ll ever come to experiencing what is was like. That’s what I love about your collection, Mike. You’ve brought that ‘55 niche into your room. It must be glorious basking in the history of that magical season every time you enter that space. Great production value, the music was great/ thanks for sharing 👍❤️

Hi Mike, Happy New Year! What an outstanding video from beginning to end. You did a great job with the music and incorporating the pictures at the beginning. I enjoy seeing signed photos, 3x5 cards matted with photos and magazines. I find it interesting to see which item a collector chooses to get signed or if already signed, which item they acquire. It is a way for a collector to show off their personality and creativity. Like the photo you chose for Jackie Robinson is interesting to me. You went with a black and white photo vs. a color one. By the way, I love the choice. It is more emotive than color. There is a timeless and nostalgic feeling it gives. The blurred-out background is a fantastic touch adding to the timeless appeal. The grey color matting with the Dodger blue fits perfectly with the photo choice. The photo of Duke jumping against the wall is a beauty as well. It captures both the time with the vintage advertising and place Ebbett's Field with the word Brooklyn above his head. Perfet placement of the signature as well. Thank you for explaining how Roy Campanella signed in the later years after his accident. Very interesting. I could go on and on as I love the look of the room. Thank you for the background on your pieces and for the tour. Take care, Terry

Mike, what a great video! I had an old mail carrier who grew up in New York and came from a multi generational family of Brooklyn Dodgers fans. They would go to games at Ebbetts Field. He was 12 years old when the left town. He was devastated. To this day I have never seen a person hate the Yankees more than him lol. In the early days of eBay, I helped him put together a 1956 Dodgers team set. He wanted the cards from the year after they won. I grew to have a great appreciation for those teams through our many conversations. Ebbetts Field was such an intimate and classic park. If I could go back and watch a game in one park it would be Ebbetts Field. Extremely cool you got to meet Campy! The 1955 Topps Don Zimmer autograph you have there is actually ghost signed by his wife. I have that exact same card that his wife ghost signed and got it TTM in the early 2000’s. He had his wife signing all his TTM requests while he was a coach for the Yankees and Rays. Authentic Zimmer autos will have a more open D at the top instead of this closed version that has wife signed with. The Z will look slightly different too but the real tell is the D. If you ever decide to replace it I would be happy to help you authenticate a real one. At one point PSA was authenticating and slabbing the wife signatures and you see them for sale but they realized later they are from his wife and no longer pass them. Thanks for sharing this wonderful collection Mike. It really speaks to who you are as a collector and your passion for the history of that team!

Thanks Chris, I love the story about your mail carrier. Thanks for mentioning the Topps Zimmer, I actually meant to mention that in the video. After I got that (a long time ago) I discovered that Soot Zimmer signed a lot of his stuff. The funny thing is though, Zimmer's 50's in person autos on programs etc. do look strikingly similiar (probably what she based her signings on and why the TPA's get it wrong sometimes). I do have a legit Zimmer on the Bowman, and plan to replace the Topps but just haven't got around to it. There have actually been a couple of good one's lately on Ebay but just haven't pulled the trigger. Hope you have a great New Years!

@@mikethesportshistorycollec1947 I actually looked on eBay and saw some good ones as well. Saw a few bad ones in old PSA slabs. I learned a lot about the Dodgers from my old mail carrier. His Dad was at the infamous Mickey Owen game in the 1941 World Series at Ebbets Field. The 1955 win was almost like a generational curse being broken for my carrier’s family and I’m sure for all Brooklyn Dodgers fans alike!

I really enjoyed looking at the pictures of Ebbet's Field. I was at the site of where this park once stood and it looks completely different now. "For some reason I picked Jackie Robinson." That cracked me up. Question: Given the Dodgers won in 1955, do you collect the 1955 cards or do you collect the 1956 cards since they have the stats on the back? You sort of addressed it but wondered what your insight or take on it was. You have an outstanding collection and I enjoyed your tour.
