Sparkling gourami won my heart over. They have SO much personality for such a tiny little fish.

Agreed. And there's nothing like beauties in a bigger tank. I used to keep them in a 4 footer. It was so satisfying watching them swimming around, investigating every nooks and crannies.
This channel has always been the most helpful. I appreciate your soft tone and much inspiration for aquariums . It’s nice to see what’s possible. Keep shredding it 💕
When you're keeping the Psudomugils make sure you have a tight fitting lid , I lost 6 of them when they jumped out a tiny gap I had around the filter . Otherwise they are beautiful fish to keep

I have no lid , can you suggest me some fish which will not jump?
@Felix-jo7nj
6 ай бұрын
@@ahumanonplantearth5931almost all fish will jump, natural jumpers are more likely to jump but all species can jump due to stress and the like. You could try keeping the water level a bit lower from the lip of the tank or have a cover of floating plants to reduce the chance. A lid is highly recommended though since even things like snails can escape

I’ve heard rainbows in general jump. Sorry this happened to you. That’s awful. Thanks for sharing your experience with these super cool fish.

Hello, I would like to ask if neon simulans will be a good choice for the 30x30x30 nano cube
Great list! I haven't done an actual nano tank before but I like adding nano fish to bigger tanks. I currently have a school of about 30 ember tetras and 12 kuhli loaches in my 75 gallon, ~15 neon tetras (not green neons though), 8 otos and 5 female bettas in my 36 gallon, and then I plan on adding a school of celestial pearls to the 20 gallon tall I'm currently cycling.

CPDs don't do good with tall tanks. 20 long is a much better setup for 10-12 CPDs. males are very territorial (bottom area). speaking from experience. best luck though

I enjoyed your selection! Your aquariums are so creative too!
Grat video as always the galaxy rasboras are my favorite I love the way the interact with the plants and rocks!
I am from Myanmar and good to see Myanmar native fish in your video.
I purchased one of the RGB light screens you recommended, it’s absolutely awesome and totally transformed my shrimp tank. So happy!
Great episode. I think it’s great to redo these lists, with experience comes new choices and changes to your list. I am very interested in having some Dario Dario. I also want to learn more about cherry barbs, their colour and details are beautiful.

I have a little colony of the black tiger dario and they are probably my favorite of the nanofish I have. I like fish with a lot of personality and these guys have it.lol when the male is guarding his territory or eggs, and I come up to the tank, he will come at me like he is trying to act tough and scare me away. It's the funniest thing ever.
Great list. I'm going to get some of them for my new fish tank. Thank you for sharing
Great video, full of lovely fish especially the Dario Dario, never seen that one before. Can't wait to get some.
Love your tanks! They are absolutely gorgeous!
This is no joke, THE BEST video for nano fish.
Thanks for you videos MJ. I'm just getting back into the hobby and learning so much from your videos.

Welcome back! That’s great to hear 😊
As always Mark, excellent content 👍
This was a great list, nice to see some slightly more unusual options :)
love love love the CPDs took me a long time to find some so i started breeding them, best decision ever. they are really shy on their own but in a tank with other little fish they are always out I have a few that school with ember tetras.
I really like those light screens. 😍
My favorite is the chilli rasbora. Loved the video 🙂
Beautiful selection.
This was fun and inspirational ! Subscribed!
Nice list. Actually had a couple I’d never heard of❤

Mooie video Mark, leuke soorten en goed beproken, ga zo door!
Excellent song choice and video thank you!!
That little blue feeding basket is such a wonderful idea for mid-water feeders like my celestial pearl danios! Can I please have a link for one?
Great informative video, great list congratulations.
great video, seriously amazing work!
I really love nano fish!
Great video! you had a lot of fish I haven't heard of in the hobby : )
Brilliant video !! Thank you for sharing some undercooked species like the dwarf rainbows and killifish. Most channels post the same common nano fish so it’s refreshing to see a nice list of common and uncommon fish💯💯. My favourite is the pacific blue eye rainbows, they get a bit bigger but they are like little tuna lol
Nano fish is very interesting. Focusing on such nano world, It's very wonderous. Thank you for introducing interesting fish!!
Nice episode, so beautifull Aquarium. Blue and yellow fish👍
love your videos dude
black tiger darios and red neon blue eye rainbows look amazing, never seen them before
Thanks for your video! I have a bunch of harlequin rasboras and a bunch of neon tetras in a 10 gal tank. They are doing really well. I really like some of your choices …..cheers
Working on stocking my 33 gallon L with nano fish. This list is making me rethink my stock that I’ve planned for a year XD I had no idea gouramis could make noise, so cool! And those Dario darios I keep seeing you show off are so tempting. And I’ve recently come to love tiger endler tetras. Might start researching some of these guys to see if they’d fit in with my planned fish
@kernalbert4939

The tiger endler is not a tetra. They are a livebearer closely related to guppies. You may have already discovered this, but some other person may not. Dario Badis are best kept singly or in a species only tank. They will get outcompeted for the live food that most of them require if kept with the other fish on this list. If being kept with shrimp, then the colony must be thriving or else the Badis will destabilize the colony due to excessive predation.
Beautiful Tank 😉
I have like 8 ember tetras in my nano and absolutely love them 💪
I even enjoyed the commercial you made. Lol good stuff man
Hi Mark, I found your videos are very helpful and informative. Especially the video about Algae. I will start to analyse the cause of the problem and then try your suggestions. Thank you for that. Oh yeah, may I ask are you using heater in your tank ?
Beautiful fish in small aquarium👍
Wow. Came to KZread just after googling this question.
A few of my favourites from this list were corydoras hastatus , Dario dario , pseudomugil paskai , ember tetras and the celestichtys margaritatus
so many good picks endlers and pygmy cories are def my favourite
also i quickly went to go listen to what those sparkling danios sound like, and WOW! never knew a fish could be so loud!

Excellent presentation
excellent list, thanks !
Wow best list I've seen
Great video! And the last one, clownkilli is my favoriete.🍀🦐🌿😎👍
The music here is great 😙👌🎶
Great list... I am planning a new 60l cube nano tank in the new year and this will greatly assist. Though a betta will be the feature fish, need to be mindful

I'm in a similar situation. I have a Fluval Flex 15 (57 L, but really about 45 L of swimming space) with a male betta, a mystery snail and two Endlers. I chose the betta to be active but not aggressive (put betta containers together to see what the fish did), and he gets along well with his tank mates. I'm looking to add either a small school of nano fish or two slightly larger compatible fish, and this video was helpful. At the top of my list are the ember tetras, but I also have the opportunity to buy a couple of golden gardener killifish privately. I like the green neons a lot, but can't get them locally. One missing from his list is the honey gourami. I have two gold honey gouramis in a larger community tank and they are really nice fish. I'm not sure that a betta would tolerate them, though.
Perfect bro ✌️❤️
Love this video, and coming from you I knew it would be good. Ik ben jaloers op jouw leven haha.
Beautiful tanks

@@MJAquascaping yes, there are so many fish very beautiful and colorful. But now Myanmar is under military coup ,we can't enjoy our beautiful fish :( ,the electricity doesn't go well the shut down 2 times or three times a day.
Useful informations, thanks a lot....
the spotted blue eye can also be found in northren parts of Australia :)
Mark even today I was watching ur previous video about nano fish
Acabo de comprar las rasbora mosquito. Increíble su tamaño y color. Perfectos!
Leuke video!!
Resbora chili is my favourite 😋
My favorite is the oto. They’re great when you have a school of them
Neoheterandria Elegans are also cool nano-fish. The male is one of the smallest fish in the world. There are other life bearers fitting in the nano-category. I heard Pea Puffer is also a nano-fish, but they have territories. If I don't count Betta (which isn't nano-fish by size, but 12 gallons is okay), I'd say my favorite would be dwarf rasboras. Least Rasboras can fit in tiny tanks, they live for several years, reproduce rather easily, common in fish stores and they are rather hardy for nano-fish. Blue (green) neon tetras are also my favorite, but I'd give them at least 50cm long tank to swim. I like Corries and Ember tetras, but they get scared easily and moving them is often fatal. Even shrimp handle that better.
Once again, a beautiful collection of aquascapes ! Wondering what the PH of your tanks are ? Also, on the topic of nano's, have you ever tried the fun, but rare variety called Least Killifish ? Despite their name, they are the smallest livebearer in the world. Lot's of fun character, and hardy. Their scientific name is, Heterandria formosa. They are mostly wild but there is an even rarer line that comes in a creamy gold coloring. Both should be snatched up quick if you find them. These lil guys are not the same as "millions" live bearing species, they're so small they drop one baby at a time...sometime two, so you don't have worry of overpopulating. Thanks for a great nano list ❣
Super video 👍🏾

In my country people love to have neon tetras and harlequin raspboras
Hello! Like your video a lot, omg your tanks are just heaven in clear water 💙 I'm quite fond of nano fish myself; Could you advice me on how to enhance their colors? I have blue eyed pseudomugil and mine aren't as bright as what you show. Is there any food or water setting that might help? Many thanks and congrats for your wonderful work
Et aussi passe de bonnes fêtes de fin d'année.

Great suggestions!
If you like those killifish....you should look up some bumblebee gobies. They too are a great nano fish !
Clown Killi are amazing.
In my next scape I'm planning to put a school of Ember tétras. I like a lot that 🍊 color. I also have Rasboras mosquitos and Galaxy.
Beautiful video... Do endler guppy breed in planted tanks abundantly like normal guppy?
Pygmy corys are the cutest!
How do your’re plants grow that lush?. And in really want to make a new aquarium. Could you please make a video of everything you need to setup a tank like yours? That would help me a lot. (Btw your’re the best aquascaper from youtube in my opinion, i like your style so much somehow)
Hi .. very nice video... Scarlet budis is really a bright coloured fish... Is that same of blue badis ? Will they eat shrimps in the tank?
When it comes to a nano tank my top 3 are always between the Celestial Pearl Danios , the ember tetras and the harlequin rasboras! The pearl danios are my favourite but I keep 10 gallon nano tanks which makes it better for the embers and rasboras . Another popular suggestion would be pea puffers , I have heard many good things about them ! Have you kept them in the past ?
@MJAquascaping
2 жыл бұрын
No never kept Pea puffers! Definitely still on my list to try!
Albino halfbeak!
Pygmy corys, chili raspboras, dwarf pea puffers, Neolamprologus multifaciatus, hillstream loach.
I found bumblebee gobies were super fun. Have 10. Little nemos'.
Chili Rasbora says HI...
Pandas are the best
I have a wonderful population of groups of at least 10 of white cloud mountain minnows, Zebra Danios, Checkered Barbs, rosy barbs, hillstream loaches, Amano shrimps, bladder and assasin snails.Works very well. Now I look forward to put my betta and his kuhli loach mates, Caridina shrimp, bladder and assasin snails into a 71 litre tank and to add otocynclus, amber and neon tetras.I love nano fish.It makes me said that people treat them like they treat birds= the smaller the bird the smaller the cage and the smaller the fish the smaller the tank. The moment I have put my cold water population into a 4 feet river like tank their behavior changed and I could see their happiness and their explored and using the full length of the tank to swim around and enjoy the wave machine current.
What do you think about platinum ricefish?
C. habrosus is actually smaller than pygmaeus unless you get a random big girl. And Poecilia wingei is not a guppy, but an Endler. Poecilia reticulata is a guppy. Your video shows hybrids of two species, so the reticulata species should be listed. Glad to see you included the green neon tetras. (they only look blue because of your lighting). Other than this, your list is similar to my own for the most part. And your tanks are immaculately scaped of course. Lovely.
The spotted blue eyes can be pretty aggressive in nano tanks.
