my 14+ hour weekly japanese study routine| how I study intermediate japanese at home

✨I honestly do study Japanese for 14 hours per week! My teaching hours for BA Japanese (the language bit) is 8-9 hours. So you know what they say? For every teaching hour you do double. But since I am studying for the JLPT N4, I integrate my studies into that too....so it's not all bad. (or is it??????lol)
✨My study plan or methods do change and that's what language learning is all about. It's a delicate process that moulds to you while you grow. Let's continue learning together!

Seeing how hard you work is inspiring to me, especially considering I know how heavy the workload is. Anime and manga is what got me into learning Japanese haha, it doesn’t deserve the hate it gets from the language learning community 😙 Something I’ve just recently started doing is shadowing and trying to repeat while watching anime (I look like a muttering psycho lmao) that really helps me actually hear what’s being said when I might of not noticed words and grammar. I also like to make Netflix Anki cards with voice and pics that are fun! (I use mattvsjapans method) Just some tips for fellow anime fans 🤗

I also have some other apps to refresh kanji such ad Kanji Teacher, but enjoy the system in WaniKani they use to help memorize kanji. I also like learning by translating my favourite japanese songs, and well just a lot of reading ofc aswell

I'm planning on going to Japan again next year and have recently upped my Japanese studies to procrastinate my degree work (I am doing my MSc and it's a lot) but we work in very different ways, I'm a lot more passive but seeing your handwriting transformation is inspiring, my handwriting is terrible (in Japanese and English) but I'm now determined to do better :')

Hello! It's my first time watching your video, nice to meet you 😁 I really enjoyed the content you filmed. I've been living in Japan for a little over 2 years, and learning Japanese is not easy, even when you are immersed in the language. Maybe it's the foreigner effect, but... You can be here and not speak a word of Japanese, if you don't go out of your way to make friends with Japanese people. 😢 Thank you for sharing your routine. I found it accessible, and I love how you spiced it up with interesting topics and exercises. 🐙 Good luck for everything!

Some great ideas for learning Japanese. I've been taking lessons as a hobby for years and haven't really progressed, I became lazy and just do it for fun, with barely any revision...time to try some of these and get back into it! Hopefully one day I'll actually PASS my JLPT5 😅

Ahhh I aspire to be this organized and scheduled (although it probs won’t ever happen haha 😅) So many great tips and fun ideas! I’ll definitely be trying them. I’m currently studying grammar from Tae Kim’s (free!) grammar guide, Anki cards I made from anime subs (using mattvsjapan’s method!), and shadowing anime as best I can (I just found out it helps me hear and recognize words so much better!) i also try reading manga, and Miku sensei is my fav youtuber teacher! I just do my studying whenever I get some time, sometimes it’s like in the middle of the night 😅 sometimes I’ll forget for a couple days too... just try to keep it real with myself lol. But I’ve been studying about a year now and I feel I’ve made quite good progress so I’m happy with it 😊

I love the fact that you show different apps/resources to practice Japanese! Since I’m in my beginning stage of learning Japanese, I’m just using Duolingo and LingoDeer, and studying the alphabets(hiragana/katakana). I am just taking baby steps but would like to buy books in the future to really challenge myself and have a notebook to note-take all of my progress. Do you have any recommendations starting out? Because I am also practice another target language, Brazilian Portuguese, which are no way similar (so it’ll definitely be a challenge) lol. But great video! I’m glad I waited until the end to hear your vocal practices as well because I didn’t know if you incorporated those too. Also, AOT is the superior anime 😂

@vlog of victoria oohhh por favor!! Haha, yeah because I made a video about learning portuguese but I was pretty naive with it. However, now my phone is completely set to Brazilian Portuguese so I’d like to take this language way more seriously.

@vlog of victoria well it’s not that bad because I already know Spanish. So the languages are pretty similar or I just have a good amount of portuguese in my head to make educated guesses.

@vlog of victoria I think that’s honestly okay since the characters don’t look exactly the same. However if it was Japanese/Chinese, then I’d for sure be lost.
