Yes, he is alive and the alpha male of the tank. The music is just some track from youtube library.

What tank size was he raised by in ?

Trying to do the same with a high fin platy male and female swordtail, did you experience any problems?

Select for what?

It appears that the hybrid has experienced heterosis and has grown bigger than either parent. What was the combination of parents as I'm thinking about replicating this for research purposes when I have the tank space to? EDIT: Also, I found a channel that has chopped up your video and posted it as their own. The channel is called INDIANKINGDOM or something similar. It should be pretty easy to find as I found it a few scrolls down by searching 'platy swordtail hybrid'. I'd recommend that you find the channel and issue a copyright strike, or at the very least report the video.

@@tsitsu8345 No problem, and I'll try that combination first. I wonder if it's something similar to liger/tigons where one combination results in larger offspring while the other leads to offspring that stay on the smaller side? I will have to find out in the coming months; selective breeding with _Xiphophorus_ is a very long process since you have to have the store-bought female give birth first, then raise her female fry virgin before being able to do anything which can take a few months in itself.

@@cryoraptora303tm2 Good luck with your project! It will be curious to see the result. As for me, I didn't breed them on porpose, I have just this one male platy in one aquarium with the swordtails and I'm 98% sure that he is the father of that weird looking fish (there were about 10 fry like him, but I sold the rest). This hybrid is very weird. He is not particulary interested in females, but he is very interested in being the dominant male among the male swordtails, and he is for now.

Yes. The males are very competitive. But they mostly show off for each other than actually fight.

@@tsitsu8345 ok welp i have 2 male sword tails anveand they were fighting for a female then i realize after 2 days one of the swordtail tail is gone so i separated it now its fine again
