Excellent demo! Tapewounds too. Sounds great! These outboard preamps make a lot of sense when trying to achieve unity gain. I’m sold!

Yeah I did not think a Stingray with tapes would sound this good.
Thanks mate, you kinda convinced me to get one of these. Demoing it in the pedal chain really shows how it can improve the sound.

Hi, does the boost (output > 12 o’clock) also effects the direct output? I’m thinking about going straight to my poweramp via XLR. THANKS, Michi
Amazing video!!! what would you consider the biggest difference comparing this with a 7 lines EQ, to conect directly to the audio interface, would it be the same purpose??? I'm not sure if I did the wrong purchase by buying the eq instead of this one haha

Well, a pure EQ shapes the sound - and 7 band EQ's can be very flexible. But, this is also a pre-amp and DI box. Meaning, it can go directly into a MixBoard, or audio interface, while at the same time going to your amp (splits the signal). I recommend googleing "Hi-Z" input. So it is a DI Box, Pre-Amp (colors the tone, and adds headroom) and EQ. all at once. It depends what you already own, and what you want to achieve. I hope this helps.

David Mochen it is a clean DI. Remember, that's how most of the best funk tracks been recorded. straight to board. You can also engage the EQ, so you have some coloring. But doesn't emulate an amp/speaker, so it is a full blown DI box also.
