MX5 MIATA 2ND YEAR MODS LIST!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is ScarletMiata's 100th episode!!
It's been 2 years, and in this video I share with you the 5 major modifications I did with my MX5 Miata. This is sort of a recap of the past year, showing details and my own opinions about the modifications I did. Miatas are great platforms for modifications and builds, and it could be so tempting to go overboard. My miata build is done with restraint, giving priority to driving feel and performance without looking like a full blown track car. My MX5 is no garage queen, it is driven and driven well. This is why handling performance is more important to me than outright speed. Though the MX 5 Miata is not too common in the Philippines, i wanted my MX5 to stand out even more by customizing it according to my own taste and driving style. In the end, I am quite happy with the result, knowing that i would have so much enjoyable miles to go in my drop top Miata.

    You picked a hard one to learn on, but best of luck to you! I transitioned from a 4-speed manual fiero, and it's two totally different worlds. Fiero had easy shifts, and a huge 8+ inch throw. My ND2 has a microscopic throw in comparions, and I've definitely accidentally downshifted from 5 to 2 a few times 😅.

    Did you feel much change in how the car feels with the 215 tyres …. The wheels and tyres look better than stock for sure !

  • @love2huntbooks2
    @love2huntbooks22 жыл бұрын

    Hey Reygan, very informative video. Out of curiosity, if you liked the stock rims so much couldn't you just have put wheel spacers instead of new rims altogether? I get that you get more traction with the 7.5" (and therefore 215 tires) but if that wasn't a goal, just curious why you eliminated wheel spacers

  • @ReygansRides

    @ReygansRides

    2 жыл бұрын

    The ultimate goal was to reduce weight. Wheel spacers would have added unsprung weight. The Advans are 4lbs lighter than stock per wheel, with better traction and the correct offset. 👍

  • @love2huntbooks2

    @@ReygansRides thanks for responding. I have a follow up q, does the reduction in unsprung weight change how the gear ratios feel? I read on Miata net that with more traction and weight, you lose acceleration and tend to be in the first gear longer and vice versa. Do you notice that as well with your lighter wheels ?

    @@ReygansRides thanks for the answer. Of course i bought quality spacers. My problem is that I like the stock wheel rims. Its not a matter of saving money. I bought 3 different couples of spacers. . 15mm, 20mm and 25mm. I am thinking to install the 15mm at the front and 20mm or 25mm at the rear. And because I heard very different opinions about the use of spacers i am a bit afraid now to install those. But I have a friend who works as an ingeneer for lamborghini that told me spacers don't destroy any part of suspensions as others say. He only said that those can change the handling. Anyeay i bought those already... and i will see how they will be after installed. I hope for good

    I have been disappointed Mazda PH don't offer the RF with a manual here and so far I have only seen the most basic soft top with cloth seats offered with a manual gearbox. All the soft top's with leather interior only come in automatic. I really do not want an automatic. Never driven one in my life since I started driving in 1992 and not going to start now in a car that is without question best with a manual gearbox. They don't seem to allow the buyer many options in the Philippines. I also wasn't offered any for my 2018 Ranger Wildtrak, but that was a deep provincial dealer. Now I am living within reach of any dealer in NCR so I expected more, but they are not offering what I want. I don't have to have the RF, but I at least want my manual soft top to have my choice of leather interior instead of cloth. Mazda Philippines ''No''.
