Tbh in my opinion, none of these newer current games will ever compare to these older classics. Best gaming period to me (in my opinion): 2000s and even early 2010s (like 2010-2012)

Dude, after all these years its great to see people playing the older game and it still getting some props for the things it did right. I'm Robb Rinard, and I was the lead designer on MXU. I designed over a half dozen off-road games and MXU is still my favorite to this day. -robb

@@MBF120 I really was. My biz partner Rick Baltman and I worked on the bike/rider physics for years. First the MCM series, then Off-road Fury series, then MXU. Then Rainbow got sold to a big publisher and they fired me. Cuz I wouldn't shut up about the terrible direction of things.

@@MBF120 sorry for getting back so late, yes the PS2 from my elementary school days surprisingly still works and is playable. Some games skip and freeze but they got small scratches on them (also mostly 12-15 year old games) but the system itself all good.

I was 11 when this came out. Still play it to this day. I remember me and all my track buds would play this at night at the track. Have tournaments and stuff. Good times man. Good times.

This is my all time favorite motocross game ever and I’ve played a good majority of them all. Something about it not only being a PS2 game along with it being dirt bikes only on top of having my favorite freeride mode ever equaled my favorite game ever growing up as a kid.

Such good physics and rider movement! One of my fav features is the ability to rotate the camera slightly to the sides to get a better view of the vehicles/riders

This was my favorite racing game back in the day. My gosh, and the stuff you could do in the freestyle open world map, legendary. Man, what I wouldn't do to have the games return to a place like this

I will always have love for this game. It sparked my love for gaming when I was 5 years old.

I still ocasionally play on xbox one. They sure did great by making it backwards compatible. Playstation could learn about that. This game is my childhood. Probably the one videogame Ive spent most hours playing. It has a place in my heart forever. Thank your for talking about it and keeping ot alive. Can't believe the 1st one is still the best in the series nearly 20 years later.

I still remember holding down and then up before every jump back in the day. Didn't matter if it was short or long. I was going full send.

I just saw this game on the microsoft store and started losing it. I remember the summer I got this game for PS2 when I was a kid. We had all our friends from the neighborhood crowded in me and my brothers room playing this game freestyling, racing trophy trucks, helicopters, etc. This game is legendary and I'm so stoked for it to download.

Hell yeah it is. Ive loved mx unleashed and its held up surprisingly pretty well. Im sure most is nostalgia, but you have the awesome soundtrack, the many unique track environments and fun layouts, big freerides with alot of vehicles and variables to have fun,etc. 🤘

Offroad racing games used to be so much fun back in the day: ATV Offroad Fury 1-4 ATV Quad Power Racing 2 DiRT 1-3 Downhill Domination FlatOut series FREEKSTYLE Motocross Mania 3 MotorStorm series MTX Mototrax MX Rider MX Superfly MX Unleashed MX vs. ATV Unleashed MX vs. ATV Untamed MX vs. ATV Reflex Nail’d Pure Sled Storm Splashdown series SSX series Test Drive: Eve of Destrction Racing games used to have so much fun and care put into them back in the day. These days racing games are soooo boring and way too realistic looking. I’d rather stick with the old stuff. 😭😭😭👌🏾

Another amazing thing about this game and the sequel is they’re packed full of content and they don’t sell 80% of the tracks as DLC. When I first tried Legends with a Trial and saw there was only 3 or 4 national tracks and the rest had to be bought I just stopped playing. This franchise unfortunately died to me after the ps3/xbox 360 era as the devs ruined it with greed

My dad and I would play this game all the time! If I remember right couldn’t you “preload” the jumps by pulling back on the thumbstick?

MX Unleashed is by far my favorite Rainbow Studios ever made, and I have played a lot of their titles, from Motocross Madness 1 and 2 on PC, to ATV Off-road Fury 1 and 2 on the PS2, This game of course and MX Vs. ATV Unleashed and little bit of MX Vs. ATV Untamed, however it is this game I feel that has the best racing, physics model, even the Monster Truck feels incredible in this game compared to MX Vs. ATV Unleashed, the graphics are just right, the way your rider moves with the bike is just smooth and incredible feeling, easily my favorite MX Game ever made. :)

Unleashed had the best soundtrack, but reflex had amazing physics. Amazing mems with both games.

That take out was actually disgusting too 🤣

Just play it for 2 days now, its still better than most Mx games today. The music, the 2 stroke sound, the whole gameplay is pretty good. The feeling of the bike in air is sick. This game is 18 years old and its still just awesome...even the graphics are badass for 2004.

I also enjoyed the national tracks black hills, doha, Grandview.. umm the national track with the cable car, and the track... gosh I will have to turn it on and see all the other ones I'm missing. I can also agree in the fact that this MX game is by far the best!

I just recently got my hands on mtx mototrax after years of only playing the demo on Tony hawk's underground the AI is tough as shit in that too but all out's AI is way too easy its still fun to play but mxgp and Supercross are the ones to go to for more of a challenge

I had this on a demo disk and all I loved doing was crashing and knocking people off their bikes

Dude after unleashed the games went to shit, I think there was a couple decent titles that a few friends told me about but MXVATV unleashed/ Mx Unleashed have some of the best physics of any Mx game imo. They could literally just remake these games with updated graphics and it would be sick. New physics looks like a robot.

I think if you do the career it unlocks, or you buy it after you earn enough points. There is a cheat code to get them aswell
