What does weapons gots to do with it. Respectively. Skill based is skill based. And personally it don’t matter what gun I have I should be dropping easy 2.0 kd minimum. But because it’s so strict and I have kids thinking it’s a tryout for optic gaming or faze it becomes miserable. The guns have nothing to do with it nor perks or anything outside of how strict the sbmm is

The game itself will change it's metrics regardless of player skill. A guy with a .75 K/D will lock on to my dome piece not because he randomly became a demon, but the game itself will increase player's aim assist to the point it locks on to people's faces. Regardless of their skill level. The game will change the outcome of gun fights and matches to control how long we play, forcing you to play more to win, to unlock stuff. Little note to add about the daily challenges. Instead of waiting another refresh. Hop into Free For All and as long as you get top 3, you get that extra point for winning a match as long as you have the bonus challenge unlocked.

The issue is it’s even worse in FFA lol, the games are always so close because everyone is sweating their ass off lol

This isn’t sbmm it’s something deeper than that - I really think there is a deeper AI here at play it’s like I’m playing a game but my outcomes are pre determined no matter what my player does and it’s not just me complaining about dying too much or sweats etc but my kill streaks are controlled by someone spawning 5 feet behind me or spawns flipping by themselves sometimes to give my team the upper hand when we’re down and the other way around for the other team I’ve noticed on domination, explosives I believe have variable damage ranges IM CONVINCED - after a couple GOOD games with the rpg,grenade launcher and the explosive drone thingy in the default demolition class I got into a match where my explosives had ZERO blast range unless almost a direct impact and not they didn’t have any perks or shields to block damage - I’m telling you there is something bigger at play I’ve played since the glory days and this is something completely new here not just a trash game

You ain't lying man, there's definitely something else going on that the devs aren't talking about. And thank you for sharing your experiences cause I feel the same thing happening. Retention based matchmaking, with the purpose of making more money. If they can make that has controlled outcomes, they can make people play more not because they want to, but because they have to in order to level up and unlock the things they actually want to use. ALGOS CONTROLLING EVERYTHING.

I honestly appreciate how, indirectly, you are addressing the SBMM problem especially with the audience you have. I feel this game has a lot of potential, but the casual experience has been absolutely ruined by SBMM, and I do not think many people would dispute that. Of course competitive games are fun, but when every public match game feels like a ranked playlist of some kind, that is more than just adding a skill based matchmaking aspect to your game. I have friends who considered themselves “worse” or “casual” players, and all SBMM has done is deter them from playing. It would be great if Activision could see the damage this has caused to COD, but we all know how they have been with the fan base for the last few games…. But thanks for your positive approach to this, it is really refreshing to see :D

Thanks for sharing. At least it feels better talking to people that experience the same thing. I don’t know who they’re making their games for if anyone that plays doesn’t enjoy the matchmaking. Unless they only cater to .5 KD players that don’t even realize the game is helping them. Gotta sweat every match… Cause that’s fun! 🙃

I like it but some aspects of unlocking things are confusing. Way too many weapons and attachments to unlock and doing the daily challenges to unlock them is dumb. I have to get 3 respawns with a tac insert which I don’t even have.

My kd and win loss ratio sucks due to I have to deal with sweats and having a crap team and sometimes I have to deal with campers

Im seeing so many players using the iridescent and crimson ranked skins in my lobbies. I never grinded ranked that much, but plat was the highest I reached while solo queueing. At least the gameplay is good. The SVA is really solid if you land that first shot since 2 bullets come out instead of 1. High skill ceiling weapon with a terrible ttk if you miss the 1st shot in any burst.

Once you unlocked the perks is it unlocked for good or do you have to do daily challenges to unlock it everyday

I don't know I been a defender of cod to my friends. I played MWII for a the full year. from date until day before MWIII .. I said haters are just haters.. MWIII has after a weekend been uninstalled from my hard drive. the SBMM is so over tuned it is miserable for me to play . I think maybe the best players and the worst players don't feel the SBMM the way the just good players feel it . If you are not top tier but are pretty good this game punishes you so hard to play it that after a full weekend of playing I was so mentally drained and mad I had to uninstall it . I love the game outside of the way SBMM has just gone to a new level of BS I cannot endure. my defense is over of this franchise .. I hope Xdefiant isn't garbage .. please ubi get at least one game right .

I havent played since mw19 because of sbmm. Its just not rewarding and there isnt any progression feeling and every match is even steven my kd was always around 1.5 before sbmm came to cod

The Bigegest “L” MW3 gave us is that Sledgehammer confirmed they Replaced Advanced Warfare 2 for this buggy shit. Now if we get it from them it won’t be until their next development cycle in late 2026

It’s an ON/OFF switch at times. You’ll go from killing easily to not being able to kill at all. ALGOS going crazy in MW3

For real it’s like we’re at a crossroads in time. Caring about the integrity of the game or dropping that and not caring at all. I’d rather a game be fair and balanced by not interfering with the mechanics, engagement based matchmaking, where every engagement has a predetermined outcome because of past experiences instead of being only based on that moment. THEY MAKE YOU PLAY by forcing outcomes to be some time of way, making you play and play and play and play, never feeling fully in control…

The SBMM is so bad I just uninstalled the game after reaching level 55. Maybe I’ll install it again in a few months. Maybe they will have changed it for the better. But I highly doubt it though.

AW was the cod that got me by the balls, i was sooooo hooked on that cod. Stopped playing after BO3, cant stand the slower campy style of boots on ground. And then making it all take forever to unlock simple things... Meh dont want JRPG levels of investment for a blashbang amf a perk 😂😂

Yuuup. SBMM has left a sour taste in my mouth over the years now.. def something we need to push harder now that basics are actually under wraps. When a game is designed to put you into certain brackets based on how you play last few games compared to a randomised lobby it will just feel rigged. Doing good and winning games will make the game increasingly harder until it gets too hard and you struggle and get triggered by playing sweats a few games until you get wrecked and get a few «normal» lobbies, then repeat. Feels so shitty and should never be a thing in casual lobbies

too funny. call of duty is supposed to be a competitive shooter. yet the players in the game are freaking sad and mad over competing. imagine if the spirit of competition for most things in life was like it is in call of duty. everybody would be sad and depressed. they only get 4th place. guess they need to start adding bots into the games. so nobody get their feelings hurt. crazy like 20 years ago. skill based match making like this would have been the bee's knees, every match a tough one that you remember.

It's more than competition. I love when my enemies try their hardest! But the game itself, the algos that dictate aim assist, damage, spawns, etc. Not just higher skilled opponents.

Quickest way to do the challenges is doing free for alls do NOT rely on your teammates who are probably sweaty af they just die all around me , you only need 8 wins for each challenge play free for all honestly save your sanity 😂STOP DYING PEOPLE

Free for all is the best mode for solo players. 1st 2nd and 3rd count as wins and don’t have to rely on teammates to help win in normal modes..
