After a week of not being able to load the game at all, this fixed it for me: right click Steam icon on your desktop, click “Disable full screen optimizations” and “Run as and administrator”. I tried everything else possible and this finally did it!

I’ve found something that worked for me. I tried this videos advice and many others with no luck. Finally I noticed my gpu clock speed in game at time of crash and checked it online to see if it was in parameters, it was too high; like max for my video card. I then downloaded a program to lower the gpu clock speed and no more crashing since.

Anybody else having to wait around 1 minute Loading map before enter a match, and also getting "Lost connection to Host; timed out" Error most of the time?? I've been like this since A WEEK ago! 😤

I knew it was something to do with files having issue being read but I thought I was almost entirely disabling my fire wall. Battle net launcher wasn’t even in my options I had to add it in. Great video!

Maybe this can help. For me no one from what you do was. After i change my motherboard i set ram frecvency on 3200 as was before. But i see this new motherboard have some problem and i got this error, so i set it from BIOS on auto... so its got fixed

For anyone wondering, I think I've gotten to the bottom of what causes this crash (at least for me). I usually like to know why a fix works, so I'm posting this here for others: 1. The game's VRAM usage was very high; I used my monitoring software and noticed that the maximum VRAM usage occurred a few moments before the crash happened (usage hovered consistently around 9.3GB, but right before the crash it was at 9.5GB). This is very close to the limit of my card, which is 10GB. 2. I checked the error logs, and the crash seemed to be caused by Windows' RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64 process. This is a process which monitors the memory usage of apps to ensure they aren't getting too close to hardware thresholds. 3. The reason that running as administrator works is because it loosens some of these VRAM restrictions, and causes the RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64 process to have increased thresholds.

I've had this problem since the season 3 update. before that everything was normal and no problems. Now I keep getting a message when "checking for update". the game hangs and directX error (game_ship.exe) What can I do if none of this helps? or how do i delete the riot shield and overkill if i can't even start the game? plz help me :D I am despairing :(

Same problem after season 3 update. Ryzen 5 3600, GSkill 32 GB ddr4 3200MHz, asus strixrog Vega 56 8gb and MSI B450 Tomahawk Max....i replaced my Vega whith Rx 570 4Gb but same error. error irreversible in DirectX.

I also had this issue that nothing helped but after I lowered the ram frequency in the bios it works perfectly, no crashes since. I hope this will help you.

@@mosesnyangacha8880 at the moment, i fixed the game crashes with 8th reinstall of the game. Idk how it helps now, coz it didnt work earlier 7 times. Also, have xmp enabled, everything works fine now.

@@Jaine_Doe you simply reinstalled the game time after time? Did you do a normal uninstall of the game through steam or more in depth? Are you using the XMP I or II profile? Any changes to RAM voltage? Sorry man just going crazy cuz this happened literally out of nowhere and I’ve tried a crazy amount of fixes

I found a fix for the 0x00001338 error code. If you are using a Razer headset, you need to make sure Razer Synapse is not running. There doesn't appear to be an actual fix to be able to make MW2 and Razer Synapse work together yet.

Try doing a system reset: Settings > update and security > recovery > reset this pc > keep my files You won’t loose any data if yours. Only need to reinstall the programs
