Yes, if you still have the manual, it's in there. If you don't have the manual, open the unit, remove the battery then put it back in. That would reset the unit too

I bought one of these things and it was defective right out of the box. Would not turn on. The finger print sensor would light up but nothing else would come on. Then I disconnected the power and restarted it several times before it would come on. Then it would just shut off after about a minute every-time. I would have to constantly restart it to finish entering the data. However everything stayed in memory so i know it is not the Battery. Im Sending it back. JUNK!!!!!

+Harold salazar I think the rattling I mentioned in the video was the backup battery that came loose. MVPower sent me another unit that didn't have the rattle and it retained date/time after power lose.

Hi, I just resolved the issue with the download of the data. Since it is with chip with very limited capabilities it has issues with the ability to save files on the storage. You have to format your pen drive/mass storage device with FAT32 file format. Now it is able to download and save files. Hope it works

So If I formatted it, the registered fingerprints will also be gone?

I no longer have this unit. You can try the following to reset it. remove the battery and the button cell battery inside. When the button cell battery came lost, was rattling inside, I found my credentials no longer worked and had to use default credentials.

Maybe whatever was loose in there might have caused some of the issues?

The error was that particular menu section was the import menu, there's another menu to do the exporting.

The USB port on the side accepts usb flash drive. That is used to transfer the attendance sheet from the device to the flash drive, which can then be opened in a spreadsheet. I believe the format was csv so it can be opened in excel.

No. Unless your usb is exfat or something exotic. I think it was this video I mentioned the problems I had with the unit. Took me a few tries to figure out how to transfer.

I discarded this a few months ago so don't have the manual. I think if you reset, it erases everything back to factory default.

The first unit I got also had the problem where I disconnect the power and erases. Turns out the battery inside was dislodged. That's why it didn't save my settings when it lost power.

buy the unit, but has password manager, I can not remove it , to set my users ,

I bought the first one a few years ago, no problems. The second one last year with the same problems as you. Support is non existent. avoid this product.

i say if it doesn't work for the hamster, it is junk
