Brett's solo just jumps off the CD and right through your speakers. 1st time I ever heard Brett was at a clinic in the late 80's when he was playing with the Nelson boys. Man! 10 years later I got to see Shawn play! WOW! I ended up at the gig about 3 hours before it was to start and got to hear Shawn play onstage in an empty venue. Only 3 people in the place, Shawn, my friend and myself just listening to Shawn play for 45 minutes. Needless to say a humbling exp. I knew at the time I would...

6:55 Cliffs of dover lick. Brent Garsed sounds very clean on this but I think Gambale's ability to take a phrase through the key change is better. 6.54-6.55 - sounds like one lick in Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson
God I love Bret's solo

Steve Tavaglione is a saxophone master
Check out "Hazard Profile", or "Bundles" by Soft Machine with Alan Holdsworth.
01:43...BASS RULES!!!! 😨😨😨😨😨😨
6:55 Cliffs of dover lick. Brent Garsed sounds very clean on this but I think Gambale's ability to take a phrase through the key change is better. Lane and Garsed don't play as many motifs, just more burning which to me is less interesting. You can definitely tell who was the most seasoned guitarist on this.
Keep forgetting this song and the band after I discovered it.
Anybody else notice the old string noise when he stops playing? I know the strings aren't old but something with the two overdrive's and compression gives that hiss noise that sounds worse than Nails on a chalkboard! At least John Frusciantes od hiss was sexy Brett!
ah yea mafa's ah yeeaaaaa
Frank n Brett are OGs... but Shawn was The OA and did al five movements every note he played... he jumped, he aint dead
