Gaille Jianniieee in quite a few promo pictures for different songs, Moon'll be the only one seated in a chair XD I think it might have something to do with hip hop culture - rap and hip hop originated from the streets, so there's that sense of grunginess but also a lack of structure since it was often improvised on the spot, so you can imagine people would get up from the bench and start dancing/rapping... rap/hip hop was born from people's frustration and suffering (much like blues, jazz and eventually rock, actually) so there's a sense of people performing those things to keep them from just sitting around bottling up their misery. They also go with the need to spread a message and be heard, so getting out of a chair is symbolic of the person not being passive. Moonbyul really embraces that culture from her rapping to her choreography to her clothes, so I wonder if she is constantly associated with chairs as a reference to that sort of stuff. Or if that's reading too much into things, rappers/hip hop artists doing stuff to chairs other than sitting is epic, fun and still a nod to that refusal to be placid, silent and inactive which is characteristic of rap/hip hop.

It's complex a explanation related to the awareness of kpop beyond Korea. I don't think they are underrated but he international market has its own products and trends so it's not easy to make it to the top. The most acclaimed early groups made way by simple luck. The Kpop started as a Korean version of the U.S boy bands and Japanese idols in the 90s. Is not a genre that likes to the general public neither a korean general public, but has its market. Invisible to a wide audience. In the labeled as 2nd Generation the big labels (music producers) had been gaining attention in the neighboring countries creating versions in Chinese and Japanese and some Korean pop music made it to the U.S. and Europe, like Girls Generation's song 'Gee'. This case along other similar woke up international market to kpop but that doesn't mean Kmusic companies worked with the focus to target those markets yet, as it's happening now with the 4th Generation and groups like Kep1er or Loona. In these lines falls Mamamoo and Blackpink because their main market was Hangeoul (homeland) but Blackpink by "luck" rated high earlier in the U.S music charts and their company took the chance hands full. On the contrary another girl group 'Momoland' had chances to be a big name after their international hit BoomBoom, but their company screwed big time: erratic concept, dealing with scandals all the time and scarce music. They still are active and very popular though. Anyways now during the 4th Generation, Kpop is already an international genre and the previous gens are getting more attention too.

It's probably due to the fact that they don't have a strong English speaker in their group. That goes a long way to connect/interface with international viewers. I agree; Black Pink are awesome performers and have worked very hard for their well-deserved success-- But Mamamoo is unmatched in vocal performance. Their stage presence is amazing, choreography impeccable--they're peak, in my opinion, among female groups. However, Black pink has 3 1/2 fluent English speakers (you go, Jisoo! You've improved so much!) while Mamamoo does not. Also Black Pink's production company is absolutely loaded.

@@Assassin-nz3ri For a girlgroup with so much talent and that debuted 7 years ago, they're clearly underrated, they should be at the same level as bts and blackpink right now. But unfortunately, they came from a very small company and people don't know them a lot internationally, so the result is that mamamoo are not as famous as groups like twice and blackpink, even though they deserve to be.

The maknae line means the three ( or two depending on number of members ) the youngest people in the group. The unnie line could have more people but the maknae line should be about 1-3 people. Unnie line : solar, moonbyul. Maknae line ; whee in, hwasa.

Mamamoo, Twice, BlackPink They were my introduction yo Kpop some 5/6 years ago and I so loved them esp BP but now they have shifted to mass production, I shift back to Mammoo which is full of maturity and Quality😍
