MV Carpe Diem, Maldives 2020 (4K) | Diving

Despite the global COVID-19 pandemic we made our way over to the Maldives to go on a seven-day Liveaboard journey around the central atolls. Our ship was the MV Carpe Diem and luckily we had most of the divespots for ourselves. The weather was sometimes rough and the wind was very strong in the first few days.
That was one of the reasons why the visibility was mostly poor.
But the underwater fauna was as present as ever. We experienced Mantas, Whale Sharks and many other shark species.
Social distancing definitely didn't apply to the underwater world of the Maldives.
Camera: GoPro Hero 6

Hi, I've been following you for a long time and everything in your videos has always been spectacular. The sessions are great, the quality is fantastic... this channel is absolutely brilliant and you helped me a lot with the majority of my curiosities about scuba diving, thank you so much. Anyway, I would like to make a suggestion (if it's not a problem): I'm convinced that you can add a really funny video on your channel to show us some of the funniest things happened while scuba diving or even during other water activities, something like a "oops and bloopers" compilation. For example, you could gather all of the times where you or your friends get "caught" on video while peeing in the water. Once, my uncle peed in his wetsuit on his surfboard while he was waiting for a wave and that was hilarious, he always tells me there are 2 types of surfers, divers and swimmers: those who pee in the water and those who lie, you can also include those moments in the future videos just to keep having a bit of humor on your channel, you can use both old and new clips, what do you think? I know it sounds weird, but, for me, it's the funniest thing about divers and swimmers. When a diver pees in the water or in his wetsuit, I think he demonstrates to be someone who is not afraid of consequences or to be judged. I think it's something that can come out great! I'd be so so happy to watch it, let me know, have a great day!

I really appreciate your kind words, but this channel is all about wildlife and the fantastic encounters you can have while diving. I see us humans as silent witnesses for the beautiful things happening under water. Therefore I will not do the kind of video you suggested, sorry. Best wishes

Great Film! I would like to ask how are you happy with the trip? is the Guide and Team are good? which month was it in this film? Because I wish to book the same liveaboard this September ..but I need more info .. last 2019, I was with another Liveaboard in the Maldives ..Guide was new, and not know so much about the area.. my trip was totally disappointing.

Hey there! The liveaboard was in september but thats not the best season for it. I would recommend the months February to April for the best season if it is possible for you. We often had bad visibility, rain and even a storm in the beginning. At the start of the year the weather is much more reliable and also the sharks are more present. The MV Carpe Diem was a very good ship, very nice crew, professional guides and very good food. Nothing to complain! Stay safe. Best wishes!
