Muzzle conditioning with Luna!
This big girl has made some unsafe choices around other animals and resources. She didn’t accept the muzzle at first so we’ve been breaking the process into steps to help her adjust. We start by simply building a positive association and having the dog eat out of the muzzle. Gradually, we build wear time and increase the challenge with added movement. Objections are dealt with by adding upward pressure with the leash but we can limit these moments by balancing the right amount of reinforcements, guidance, and duration. This is such a beneficial skills for every dog to have, especially ones with known triggers. Her family will be able to ensure everyone’s safety as they build their handling skills and confidence around others.
