I kinda don't understand why we're forced to pick between 2 specialist choices for the Mutalisk when in the brood war, the Mutalisk CAN morph into either a specialist anti-air (Devourer) or Siege anti-ground (Guardian) which is annoying.

@@hentaidude666 Vipers are arguably better though. Once you actually put some effort into it, their Disabling Cloud combined with Abduct is bonkers and nullifies so many enemy attack waves and defences.

@@k-leb4671 of course they are much better, most spellcasters or micro intensive units in this game are. But the question you gotta ask people at the end of the day in single player is "is it easy/more fun"

I'll be honest, I pick vipers just for the aesthetics. Vipers themselves look cool, and the muta strain that morphs into them... I love their wings.

it maybe just me but the vipers vaguly resemble a defiler, 2 longated limbs, massive lower jaw, longated body and both are great ultility units as well as having an ability that hinders range units also i like how bloodlings resemble the broodlords

Tucher97 but I prefer deflier, swarm cloud create perfect shield against tanks and colosus. Disable cloud and abduct require Viper to come to range and be killed quickly

defilers mostly only made an appearance in brood war and there were no colosusi, but great against carriers, get a group of hydrlisk and fire hte cloud at them

I'd prefer vipers. Ability to slow dowm and make ground armies useless seems better than a gass, which defends my armies.

If the viper had a much higher DPS against air units in general, I'd be less certain about always going brood lord, even in archives.

I kinda wanted to see what they would do with the infestor's evolution but abby never found compatible essences

I miss defiler. Those things are plain annoying but also great

somehow i like Viper, cuz of dragging and disabling the enemy units and use the Zerglings to surrounding em, also attacking the air units is fine for me, covering the army and drag the Battle Cruiser to Pile of Hydralisks or Spore Crawlers

Kinda lame that they didn't let you get the Guardian and Devourer. :/

when i played starcraft mass recall guardians did have the range but the AI would target the guardian but the broodlord fires units which hte AI would attack that instead of the broodlord itself

guardians shoots faster than broodlords and have higher dps; brood lord's better as long as broodlings screen the army from damage but it leaves the zerg without any unit that can clear the map largely on its own (and with only mutalisks as air-to-air during the campaign, you have nothing to protect them from air either)

Watching the instructor's awkward controlling is tormenting.

Personally I'd go with Brood Lord myself. I like the flying artillery ability. On the flip side my... ahem, talent for managing unit abilities is pretty low.

Brood lord is just a swarm host that is flying.

I wonder if abathur's research on enhancing psionic potential with jorium would be relevant in the future

BLIZZARD didnt bother to add Corruptor, the evolution suppose to be Mutalisk mutates to Devouver or Viper and Corruptor mutates to Brood Lord or Guardian.

Where did you get the info about Guardian being considered to be added to the campaign during the development?

Everyone mentioning the devourers yet nobody seems to remember that guardians were an option for the mutilisk... give us them or at the least both so everyone can be happy.

Let's see....should I use a flying siege tank that can create temporary melee reinforcements directly on top of an enemy....or be able to grab enemy units one at a time into what are essentially obsolete units at that point of the game? (I'm not even going to bother with the corsair ability nobody even used in brood war)

Almost everyone chooses the Viper, but the Brood Lord can be a gigantic pain in the ass if a group of 'em flanks your army or sneaks in to your base.

I'm not a zerg main, but it's annoying that we had to pick between that rather the Mutalisk having 2 specialist roles just like it's Brood War time.

Brood lord Mutalisks have wings resembling Halloween vampire bats Viper Mutalisks in the other hand, has wings that resemble a fairy ........

Brood Lord: Easy option to destroy bunkers and Any turrets Viper: More like support units.

I wish we could choose from old and new queens so we would have to choose from olf brood war play style with multiple hatcheries and good support unit or with new queens able to heal units

I chose the viper strain because I don't need anti ground nor anti armor mutalists, because ultralisks can deal with them. What I need is anti air, and vipers are anti air, plus they look cooler

I prefore like viper straim.

You can't turn it on or off, in Starcraft there are units who do area damage, some units hit friendlies too, some do not, Siege Tanks DO HIT friendlies

As for me, vipers break the laws of physics too much even for the scale of SC. How such a creature, that definetly is not extremly heavy and is hanging in the air without any support from solid ground, can stay on it's location and pull objects, that are MUCH bigger and MUCH heavier and do it so fast, with enomorous accelerations, as if there was no inertia at all? This is too weird. In a more realistic case of such a fast pulling viper would be moved towards a heavy object while big unit would change position only a bit. It could be better, if vipers could use abduct against big units only being borrowed in the ground, or if it was needed to use many of them simultaneously to move something big. Or, and that's the best - if accelerations were dependant to the mass ratio and it took a lot more time to pull heavy objects, and that time could be used for retailation - killing the viper, or sending it's victum to move into the opposite direction, so that it will pull viper forward. . In real life a small tug can pull a big ship only with a very low acceleration, and - only when the ship does not resist. If it will turn the engines on and move into the opposite direction, it whould be able to pull the tug all across the Atlatics. And of course it is much harder to pull objects, that are standing on the ground and are hold by much higher friction.

@@jarskil8862 attack order on ground. your forces will attack anything along the path automatically. WAY more efficient than clicking on every enemy...especially if u barely click anything so your forces spectate for ages...
