I too have been struggling with this approach of speaking of Zion as an afterlife. Growing up I always viewed it as a state of mind, a heaven on earth. I respect this elders opinion. However the fact is no one knows what’s happens after we die. It’s called BELIEF! I think it’s foolish to act as if you know what happens in general. To say objectively that’s it’s something is after this foolish but also saying it’s nothing is just as foolish.

maybe they will listen to you and stop riding a train that has left the tracks, music can always be dynamic, but loses flavor if the consciousness behind it is stale and done, its cool how you tell the truth and your not afraid to be yourself

I guess I'm with Peter here. Death is the biggest lie, although it appears to be all around us. In life there is only change and we go from body to body for thousands of years. Another way of putting it is in this life there are no nouns, only verbs.

It is a devastating experience for some, since there is the possibility that in a past life you were not a good person and from what I understand during the meditation it is not like you are in this life looking at a past life---you are that past life.
