What a beautiful analogy. I never thought of it like that and it makes doing mitzvot more attainable. It is difficult to do them when you think, he is not present or doesn't care to be present and sadly, people I know think that. However, thinking that he is hiding in order to be found is so much more powerful and motivating.

Rabbi Friedman, my son shared your words with me, after reading what I wrote on Tisha B'Av. Your words resonate. My words were in part directed to fellow Jews who, feeling love and compassion for all living beings, cannot imagine the reinstitution of animal sacrifice. Feeling that perhaps that was something we needed to collectively move past before stepping into Geula. See Micah 6:6-6:8. There is a legitimate hashkafic view that offerings in the Third Temple will be like the mincha grain offering, involving no harm to any of Hashem's beautiful creations, compatible with the reality of Geula, the open revelation and experience of Godliness, when finally "the Little Girl is found." Even without mourning the cessation of animal sacrifice, there is reason to fast and mourn on Tisha B'Av. What I had in mind, mourning, in the midst of fasting, when I wrote the following words, was the Geula. The Whole of It. Actually realized. For the Jewish People, for whole of humanity, for all living beings and for the world. Ad Mosai! The "Little Girl" is here. All we need do is open our eyes. Here is what I wrote: Today Jews are observing Tisha B'Av, the longest fast day of the Jewish Calendar. Tisha B’Av is the major day of communal mourning. First and foremost Tisha B’Av commemorates the destruction of both the first and second temples in Jerusalem (586 B.C.E, and 70 C.E respectively), but many other travesties have occurred on the same date. Even if you find it difficult to mourn the cessation of animal sacrifice on a massive scale, there is reason to mourn. You can feel and experience the pain and suffering inflicted on innocent men, women and children in those conquests and in the other horrors commemorated in Jewish history. Beyond that, today, there is even greater cause for mourning. Just look at the world around us. Look at the hatred, one group pitted against another. Look at how we view other human beings. Look at what we are callously doing to other living beings and to the planet itself. And contrast all that with what could be.

Where in the Bible does it say humans are the Temple of Gd? It doesn't, that is a false teaching of Man. Gd went into great detail about His coming Temple, you can read all about it in Ezekiel, it will be enormous. as Isaiah tells that the Moshiach will come at the End of the Days and build the Temple on Gd's Mountain Moriah, that the Nations will stream to it. All in Gd's timing.

Reward of good deed is that we can make our inside His home. Our kindness is the Home. To welcome the weak through the door (charity) into your home(kindness heart) is to welcome G-d into your love of G-d. To let Him live inside is to live Him. Thank you Rabbi , deeply. Those that don't know that Jerusalem is totally protected at that time, amen....Wait with joy and have all that faith just come out knowing only God knows the appointed time, amen say amen..........

Rabbi Friedman, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Many of of us, myself included are studying Hebrew, Judaism and desire to know the Messiah more fully. It has been my experience that even in the revelations of our religion that these came on celebratory feast days, and days significant to the Hebrew calendar. There is much that I am learning from the Hebrew language that communicates a greater meaning from the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon to me. Something many of us are focusing on is letting God prevail in our lives. Thank you for your messages. It won’t be much longer now, this is the winding up scene to His coming.

But because of you rabbi I FOUND GOD... Those 2000years every day are souls on this earth that found God, just like u sir. No need to wait and seek, not in this material world. Mesia comes when you find God in your hart and all those 2000 years we've looked and found God each on its time, and our children will continuu this for themselfs. Thats why we all have free will, to look or not for God. Love, respect, kindness, goodness... All of this defines God for me, he is with me everytime I have those feelings. God bless us all so we can experience those feelings everyday ❤
