I am wondering how this will apply if you are salaried in your work. Will taking a leave means you stop working or I need to file leave without pay?

I came to Canada with a 3-year advanced diploma in 2022, and the study permit I got for this one is valid until April 2024. I changed my program to a 2-year diploma, and it was supposed to end in April 2023. But unfortunately, I failed one course in my final semester; that specific course was only available from January to April. So I had to wait 8 months for that course since student advisors told me it was only available in January. Will it affect my Pgwp application? My study permit was still valid.

How about the owp's work?

What if 1+1, finished the first program applied for extension for the next program. Can I work in between program?

No you are not allowed to work before your program started. Hard to say if and what the consequences are. Just don't do it ;)

Hey, i am a full time student at college as i fall under the eligibility criteria. I did my last exam in last week and waiting for completion letter which is expected in January mid. So, i got to know that i can work full time until the decision of completion from college comes. I also saw this on UBC site. So, is it correct ?

Hello po, I just wanna ask something. My case is thay i started working a day before my school starts, i know i violated the rule but what will happen to my application after graduation? Will i be deported with my spouse and banned to enter Canada? Is there any way to fix these? I still have a year though but im panicking now. Please give some advice..

Hm that's obviously not good but you can't change it anymore. Just make sure that you don't violate any other rules from now on and you'll most likely be fine. But I am not the IRCC haha

My program started may 2022 and ended December 15 2023 and I was working full time and I continued to work full time untill I got my program completion letter on 5 th of January 2023 is that okay?

Hi I just want to ask that now student who were already in Canada can work full time right so i came here in May 2023 but I am confused… can we work more than 40 hours a week currently I’m working 92 or 90 hours biweekly. Will it create problem in future for pgwp? I’m 3rd semester student

You are working 45 hrs per week as a full time student? I would not recommend that. You may be allowed to work more than 20 hrs per week. See here: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/work-off-campus.html

3 weeks is not that long yet. As long as you submitted it completely you should be good. You can always contact IRCC too.

Hi Mam. Would you able to help me with my case? I started my first term of MBA at one school on the last day of my first term, I got a job. And I transferred to another school, and got the enrollment letter, too. I thought it was a break and continued working till my new school started; the gap is around 1.5 months. I thought, and I was also informed by my friends that it was considered a break. However, I have found through the IRCC website recently, that one should not work while switching schools. I am utterly confused. I don't know how to file PGWP. Will it be considered seriously by IRCC or an explanation letter will suffice? Thanks in advance.

All you can do is apply for your PGWP and see what happens. You can't change the past;)

Hi MC. I just wanna ask about my husband's situation. His last day of the program was dec 14, 2023 and most of his subjects have already grades on his student portal except one subject which is incomplete. They were required to submit the report again for that subject so the grade is to follow. My concern was is he can still work full time until the final grades was released? I am worried because in your video was can work part time only. Thank you.

As far as we understand you may be able to work more than 20 hrs until your old permit expires. But please check with IRCC. See here: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/work-off-campus.html

The date it was issued should count. You might be able to get it from your school directly in advance. I was able to download mine online.

Only until you received your final grades. Then you have to stop
