Must visit place Almaty || Everything about KAZAKHSTAN: BIG ALMATY LAKE TREK only in 144 INR

https // / @frugaladventures
Big Almaty Lake is one of the best-known options from Almaty for dayhikes in Kazakhstan, popular among local and foreign tourists alike. It’s a large and stunningly beautiful lake in impressive surroundings, but ease of access from the city also can bring considerable crowds.
Though Big Almaty Lake itself is free, to enter the region you may need to buy a ticket to the Trans Ili-Alatau National Park for about 400 tenge per person, and a further 500 tenge per vehicle.
Due to proximity to the Kyrgyz border, local border guards will sometimes check visitors’ documents - bring your passport along just in case.
Camping near the lake is no longer permitted, so you’ll almost certainly visit as a daytrip from Almaty. Plan on packing all your food and water for the day, and some basic safety equipment like raingear and flashlights, but no specialized equipment is necessary to visit the lake.
Road till Big Almaty Lake is closed until 2023. Before the closure, it was typically possible to taxi for around 3000 tenge from Almaty to the trailhead in around 45 minutes, right now taxi will reach till base . Lake is 14 km from this point.
If you’d prefer to keep down costs and avoid the taxi, bus 28 runs from near Presidents’ Park in Almaty to Kokshoky village and the GES-2 bus stop, from where you can either walk up on the (fairly boring) road an extra 2-3 hours or try to negotiate a ride the last distance to the trailhead or lake. There are two routes from here 1. look for the dodgy staircase that runs alongside the large water pipes that come down the hill - it can save considerable time compared to the winding road route. However, I took the easy route which is road over staircase.
What to carry in trek…
1. Passport n visa if stay more than 14 days
2. Reusable water bottles
3. Snacks. Only one restaurant at the end of 11 km trek.
4 . Comfortable shoes and clothes
5. Wear warm clothes and jackets. It’s cold without show as well.
6. Cash (tenge)
Trek route : road and staircase along side water pipes
Difficulty level : Moderate
Distance : 14 km from the trek base
Cost : 90 INR forest fee + taxi cost 500 to reach Almaty lake + return by bus 36 INR
Total spend = 626
Lowest cost : bus till first presidents park 200 tenge + bus no 28 till GES - 2 bus stop 200 tenge || Hike till lake and return with same bus route spend
Total spend 800 tenge = 144 INR
Happy Journey

It is heaven. I walked down. I took the same route as I went up. The other one was steps beside pipe which they call short route. U can take that as well. Besides I did not want to hurt my knees as I had to travel Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 after a day. Please like share and subscribe. Consider booking your trip with us. Write to our email id traourindia@gmail.com

@@juannhawk2844 yeah u can do that its actually walking on the pipe. Those are drinking water supply pipes to the city. Very few people I see have opted it and its shorter distance when compared to the road. I didn’t want to do it cos walking on drinking water pipe is something I wld never do. Knowingly somebody will drink that water. Being a Hindu drinking water shd not be crossed. But that just me ☺️. U can do whatever you think is good for you .
