    You nailed it with the eyes... in Italian we have an expression, "la scintilla", literally a spark. It's that look only very few people have. They don't even need to talk to you or say anything, you look into their eyes and feel like gazing into the infinite. Men, women, sometimes children have it, and once you see it, you can never forget.

    A great testament to the Rebbe is the fact that even those who opposed his ideas, his philosophy, his campaigns, could only do so on ideological grounds. Nobody ever said he was dishonest, or arrogant, or that he had a second motive for any of his actions. His integrity, honesty and conviction impressed everyone who met or saw him. I'm not religious by any means but often find myself watching videos about the Rebbe, listening to stories, reading articles. Thanks for your work.

    I actually love when the Chabad guys stop me on the street and ask if I’m Jewish. When I say yes, I can tell there is a genuine warmth there, and I always give them the time and I stop and talk to them, ask them questions, etc., just as they give me their time. I’ll admit I’ve never even considered following them in their ways, but I respect them very much, especially their outreach and embrace of the more secular, or non-Orthodox, Jews. The closed off nature of many of the Hasidic sects (including and especially their rejection of non-Orthodox Jews) has always felt very alienating to me, but the Chabad people are the exact opposite. They make me feel welcome and bring Judaism back to me in a way that feels truly genuine. I’ve attended many Shabbat dinners at the house of my local Chabad rabbi, and I’ve never once felt pressured to adopt any practice or ritual that didn’t feel meaningful to me personally, or was simply too burdensome to realistically fit into my life in the modern, assimilated world. I know many traditional Jews would criticize me for not strictly following all of the laws of the Torah, but the Chabad people never did. They are always welcoming and non-judgmental. Much love to the Lubavitcher Rebbe of Blessed Memory.

    Can you explain how the rebbe had the same last name as his father in law and his wife before he married her? All these innovations of spreading Torah had already been done by Evangelical Christians for years, the Mormons for decades, and satirized in a book written in the 1920's called Elmer Gantry. Still can't explain why since Chabad and Co, Inc. have been around the intermarriage rate has doubled, and more than a 1/5 of Jews surveyed list their religion as NONE.

I’m sad of the situation because I feel lonely and have to « fix the world » alone. My brother Jen said I’m not alone. But things could have been different. I already defeated Dalaï-Lama, Putin, Erdogan, Netanyahu and Macaron but they are still in material power continuing to fuck the world. It’s unfair. I hate unfairness.

    About Rebbe's dollar line. In the mid-90s, I stood in the queue. A penniless observant Jew, a single parent with two children. I asked for his blessing. And what did I get? He gave me a dollar bill and looked at me with those piercing eyes with such a burning hate as if I was a seed of Satan. It is there/then that I lost my faith! This is my testimony. Take it for what it is.

  • @nomorecensoringme

    That's a shame that you felt the Rebbe looked at you with 'hatred'. I have never heard that said about him. I've heard that his gaze was piercing Many a person, if seems, felt uncomfortable under that gaze. I presumed that it was because the Rebbe "knew" things. Why must that equal 'hatred'? We don't believe in the 'seed of satan', as such, especially since angels don't reproduce. It's a non-Jewish concept. I've heard the Rebbe's talks about Jews who make mistakes, not saying that you did, though never with condemnation. Quite the opposite. Blessings to you and your family. I hope that you heal soon.

  • @dr.edwardfreeman

    @dr.edwardfreeman

    @@nomorecensoringme Piercing gaze is indeed not the same as a hateful look. Believe me, I can distinguish between the two. I was a refusenik and a dissident. I know what a hateful full gaze is. That was pure hate in his cold blue eyes. Especially given the fact that I told him that I am a struggling single parent. He said nothing. Just looked at me with burning hate and shoved the dollar bill in my hand. As for Angelic reproduction, read Bereshit VI. Know thy Torah before commenting on it. And thank you for your best wishes, but my family was destroyed by the sanctimonious zealots soon after I lost my faith. One never heals from such a tragedy.

    @@dr.edwardfreemansorry though I don't think what you saw was 'hate' though you're holding on to it, almost as a badge of honor. From what I've seen, in hundreds of videos, the Rebbe didn't always react as quickly as people thought he "should". Besides the extreme quality of people who all wanted a few words of wisdom from him. Quite a lot to expect actually. Or don't you think he was a human being? Being either a 'refusenik' or anything else would not garner 'hatred' from the Rebbe. He dealt with everyone, Jews to non-Jews, observant to barely acknowledging being a Jew, with respect, from my vantage point of not "knowing" him at all, except in broad references, to an appreciation of him.

  • @nomorecensoringme

    'Mid 90s'? The Rebbe passed away in 1994, at the age of 92. I think you expected much more than the Rebbe was able to give, if you're even a Jew, etc. Are you a troller? Ready to cast mud on our Rebbe hours before his 29th yarzheit? People can 'recover' from anything they choose to. If you want yourself and your family to be a victim due to a momentary interaction, seriously a minute if at all, that's on you. Not him. Your reference to that particular line, from Bereshis a non-Jewish tactic on here, does not equal the angels procreating all over the place. Heaven would be incredibly crowded between all of the potentially millions of angels, and people. Angels don't eat, drink, etc , though they procreate? That sounds distasteful. I shake my head at your purpose. Just heard this and I think it applies to your comments: "One who plants weeds can't expect to pick flowers." - Unknown Good luck on your journey.

    @@PaulBCohen ok, I see where the misunderstanding is. The truth of the matter is that those who parade around proclaiming the Rebbe as Moshiach are a small minority of the chabad community. (Unfortunately, as is often the case, this minority is louder than the other factions.) The vast majority of Chabad Chassidim, particularly those who were close with the Rebbe or loyal students of his, are on the opposite side of this issue, and their stance on the matter is that, yes, the Rebbe is still the leader of Chabad, since he did not appoint a successor, and his lessons and teachings are still as alive and applicable today as ever, however, they do not believe that he is Moshiach, but would not be disappointed if that turned out to be the case. I guess we'll know for sure when the redemption arrives. In short, in the interest of not offending anyone, it's always better to err on the side of "non-mishichist" when assuming a chabadnik's position on this. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

These people above all, are WORTHY of LIFE! Their own characteristics have set them in an inviolable place and yet they will attempt to build a third Temple and God will not allow them to. How can anyone get through to them that they are righteous people and that LIFE itself determined their worth, not the Lord. The Lord has been carrying out the letter of the law in an administrative role, and the Lord has ensured that the law has been followed, but it is the people themselves, not the Lord who have sealed their own place in his sight. Through all of the misery and strife, they have endured by their own merit. Please help.

Keep your nonsense and hate to yourself, don’t watch these videos unless you are intending to learn something.
