no it isn't - you can't put anything on top of it anyway and it takes up a lot more depth than a standard tv would

Where did you learn you cant

This is cool! Not very practical for a home unless you want to show off and it the gimmick will get old very quick. The depth of the mechanism would make it awkward on a tv stand. Of course mounting is not an option.

This will come in handy in absolutely no scenarios

Because they’re useless gimmicks. If they were made for very specific commercial purposes, that would be one thing. But they’re just made for attention with consumers. LG specifically does it all the time. Just like their rollable phone, foldable phone, their ‚wheelless‘ car, their ‚hover‘ skateboard. It’s all a gimmick. Pretty sure they also did a ‚hologram‘ thing too. I don’t think any of this is made with the intention of innovation or selling to consumers. Just to advertise essentially.

Because of US tariffs? TCL is a Chinese product so are many advanced products like BYD EVs and Hauwei. US and their allies are jealous of China's tech that's why they ban their tech products. Chinese products will take over their market and they don't want that.
