In Greece, if it has feta, sausage, spinach e.t.c in it they are called: feta=τυροπιτάκι (tiropitaki) sausage= λουκανικοπιτάκι (lukanikopitaki) and spinach: σπανακοπιτάκι (spanakopitaki)

In India we make it of refined flour with the fillings of khoya, sugar and dry fruits and we deep fry it. It's called gujhiya

Try it with slightly flattened out raw canned biscuit dough . Put a small spoonful in the middle and fold over then pinch together at the open edge and use an oiled grill or fry on medium or low Also great with a little bit of butter and fruit preserves or any filling that you prefer.

It's one of many great ways to use up dry or old bread and other leftovers or hit the discount shelf at the store. , but it tastes WAY better than it sounds. You can adjust the amount of milk, sugar and eggs to your texture preference. Anywhere from a fresh fluffy bread with a crispy crust on top to a rich moist cake or a heavy cobbler. It's a pretty versatile recipe , You can make it basic or add cinnamon and brown sugar with a vanilla glaze and chopped nuts on top . Or add an underwater of fresh fruit or canned fruit pie filling,or a cream cheese layer in the middle like strudel. .

In Malaysia we do the same but we put ice cream inside then froze it till it freeze then we fry it. Crunchy hot outside, cool solid ice-cream inside. (p/s: just fry for few seconds, when it turn to golden brown, pick it up. Don't worried, the ice cream wasn't melt inside)
