If you have Aux-2 piping on your skidsteer, you could use it to operate the upper grab independently. They you can use the upper jaws as an accumulator so you can cut several small trees at a time. Westtech shears are set up with a spring-jaw on the accumulator grab for easier opening, works pretty slick and you can cut a snoot-full at a time. When working around surrounding tall trees, try shearing them off as high as you can reach first, then go back after the remainder. Much easier to navigate around other trees and get them laid down without stripping branches off desirable trees that are nearby. These are great videos, there's a lot we can all learn by seeing what works and what doesn't!

Those tree shears are designed to run right in the dirt to cut the stump as close as possible to the ground…as long as you aren’t trying to chip rocks with them you can get pretty up close and personal to the turf…that shear is basically like a feller buncher without the the accumulator claw and the disk saw…bobcat made a big skid back in the day specifically designed for sylviculture and it ran a head very similar to this one…it’s all technique at the end of the day…

My husband and I just picked up one of these attachments and there isn't a website or a manual (that I could find) to figure out what to do with the remote that came with it. It appears as though it can be wired into something, but I'm not sure what. It's good to know that we don't need the remote.

Fantastic deal on that tree muncher, Dirt Boss! I wonder if you couldn't undo that chrome end where the jerk busted and twist it over to have it facing out. You can't do that with the other end, but instead, I wonder if you could spin the whole piston end for end, keeping the hydraulics facing down and then have both jerks facing out. That MIGHT change the dynamics of those jaws opening/closing, but it might be worth looking at. I also thought about possibly some thick hard rubber bumpers you could mount at the jerk contact points.
