**Must have** Garmin Data Screen setup for Forerunner 245 645 945 and Fenix 6

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Garmin Data Screen setup for forerunner 245, 645, 945 and Fenix 6. You're going to get a great overview of what a datascreen is and how to customise the ones already on your Forerunner or Fenix. Then download more datascreens from the Garmin connect store to install on to your watch. I then demonstrate some of my favourite datascreens on my Forerunner 245. We then go to the settings to change the layout of the datascreens we've installed

@@jakecowdry8430 @shanebow I think the built in barometer / altimeter is the key to a lot of "on watch" metrics even floors climbed. Otherwise it's calculated based on the GPS altitude data - not really very detailed, compared to a sensor on your wrist. - A lot of the older watches (expensive at time of launch) have these extra sensors - careful research recommend 😀

this was so much more helpful than what Garmin gave us after we downloaded the app in the store. there is a guy that starts to walk through out to set this up. however, he jumps a couple steps and doesn't show how to get to the data screen. Hes just automatically there. I was getting very frustrated because I couldnt figure out how to get to the screen to add peters racer. let alone figuring out what to do to change the settings after its installed. THis was so much more effective in walking through how to set everything up. thank you very much!

Hi Shanebow, thanks for all the great info! Question: is there a data screen that you know of which in addition to the Iother data also allows you to have an alert for interval running? For example, I run two minutes 30 seconds and walk one minute repeatedly throughout my long runs.I know how to set this up on the regular Garman interval training screens but just wondering if there’s an all in one type data screen that might include this? Thanks for any recommendations you may have.

But how can I use the auto lap (every km) and the lap time that I choose when I pushed (e.g. I reach the top of the hill). So autolap and lap separately. Otherwise, it measured the autolap from I used the lap. It's ridiculous.

I used this app this morning at a 5k. I had the auto lap disabled and hit the lap button at every mile marker. My distance was off by over 1/2 mile yet my Garmin registered the correct pace. Any suggestions?

Have you tried the Single Run Field (Single Field) data field? Also, with the all in one (very similar to the Single Field, do you notice if it drains the battery any faster than say the stock fields?

Definitely no battery drain. I guess it's recording all the data anyway so not having to work any harder.

i have the Fenix 7 and changing the target pace is not an option in the way you showed towards the end of your video. i do realize this video was back in 2019 and things might have changed, so if you or anyone in the comments reading this has an updated way of doing this pleas let me know. Thanks !

I don't sorry. But... Give Peter Decker an email. He's a helpful guy, I've had a few conversations with him. His details are on the support bit on the description of the app on the IQ store. It's a great watch. Cheers for the comments Myke. 😎👍

The pictures I've seen of the 245 map display don't seem to show your current speed or pace. Is it possible to add that data field to the map?

You'd just have to press down for another screen to see run metrics.

Hi, hate to admit it but the eyes are old. I want to see 5 or so data items. But i want them each on their own full screen display. Display holds for Xsecs and then moves to the next one. e.g. Min/Mi current lap, Min/Mi overall Pace, Dist Current Lap, Dist Overall, Heart Rate. I had a Garmin Forunner 405 which i had setup to do this many years ago. Pretty sure I had some displays with just 2 data items, again cycle thru them. Now i have the 945, its a beast, seems like it could do the above. How? thx

Hi Shane, sorry to bother you again. Have you noticed today with the new 3.90 software update (this is on the 245) that you have to have either sound or vibrate on for a notification? This is so frustrating as I like the notifications but don't like either sound or vibrate, Garmin seem to have taken the option away or it's a bug on the update. Can go into the system settings on the watch and turn vibrate off but it still vibrates. On the app there is no option to change it, apart from completely turn notifications off which I don't want to do.

Hey Scott. I saw the update and was going to do a deep dive into it on a few days! Sounds like a backwards move there. I will update on my findings. Have a good one mate

I'm used to Wahoo devices, where you can edit everything from the phone app. Do I understand correctly that that's not possible on Garmin devices? Can you only edit all this on the watch itself?! That's bonkers!
