A 2 liter pump spray bottle. Use it to store water while riding. When in camp use it for washing your bike, tent, dishes, or heat up some water to take a 1.5 liter shower. On a hot day, use it to spray water on your head and shirt for evaporative cooling.

I’ve been using a tiny 200ml pump spray bottle in the summer for cooling. Even spray my clothes. Works wonders! Never thought of bringing a full sized version, but I see nothing wrong with it. Since it doubles as water storage. Mud sticking to my bike is a pain, especially around the rim brakes

My Camping must-have is the Triangia circular cutting board which also works as a strainer and a lid too. Really handy multi purpose piece of kit. Doesn’t take up lots of space and fairly light. It always sits at the bottom of my pot and mug in a dry bag when storing away 😊

Weight and space is at a premium cycle touring, so it's great to have kit that has two uses. E.g. a knife can open cans, cut food and lots else as well. Given that you're already carrying a bicycle pump can you get an adapter to inflate a mattress? Also, you'd avoid just another item that needs charging.

Actually they exist at the moment if you google "car tyre valve". As cheap as one euro. However, it may need a DIY adaptor like your training golf balls...brilliant. However, if camping without a bike, the Flextail looks like a great gadget.

Trouble with wild camping cycle camping or similar it’s such a lot of faffing about with little bits of kit that pack small… unpack it pack it unpack it pack it day in day out. I’ve done month long cycle trips camping but just got so bored of all the hassle every day, now I just watch others do it! Fixed point camping with day rides or credit card touring is much better… until you get the card statement that is. Love watching your trips so keep travelling.

It sounds like a hassle and it is sometimes for us too. Often though it's a routine going on automatic pilot while we think about other things or listen to a podcast. Granted a lot of things to faff with but also very simple and in the moment. Everything has it's tradeoffs. Thanks & Best wishes and hope that bank account keeps balanced 😉

Yeah some days are more tiresome than others while touring. Can’t really say it’s easy - but as with anything in life, to each their own. Credit card touring allows you to bike a lot more leisurely and sorta worry free - though instead of spending time buying and cooking food, you spend it choosing where to eat and waiting for food. Plus with accommodation you need to bend your their rules - wild camping has no check-in or checkout time. It’s freedom :)

Maybe a good idea is not to move on every day. We are happy to tour and camp, but we will take a rest day staying in one place for 2-3 nights every 4-6 days, and we will also use fixed accommodation (hotel, B&B, caravan park cabin, hostel) at times which involves much less unpacking. Variety is the spice of life but you do not have to abandon the travelling ethos. Mix & match instead.

My favourite luxury item has to be my Kobo ereader. Great to have something to read when relaxing, able to hold hundreds of books whilst weighing less than one, only needs charging every few weeks. Having one with a built in light is better than having to use a headtorch. I much prefer kobo to kindle as my local library offers free ebook loans that are not compatible with kindle devices.

I also have a portable/foldable toilet that came with bio-waste bags. (there are other items in reference to human waste when out in the wild). I also have a compact sleeping pad inflator/deflator. I purchased a smaller sized ground tarp in order to protect my sleeping pad and I have purchased a compact air compressor for the times if and when I have a flat in order to save on human energy, use more for the bike rather than pumping up a flat tire. I have a collapsible bucket which is used for the following three matters: 1) Laundry 2) Bathing and 3) washing dishes (it is placed behind the lined area of my pannier bag. They do have a "scrubba Bag" but I think it is kind of pricey for such a compact thing. My collapsible camp seat; I purchased a ground mat which attaches to the type of seat I have to prevent it from sinking into softer grounds such as your concept with the practice golf balls. I also included packing cubes at varying sizes to hold clothes, hygiene, electronics, etc. (I got all of them for great price deals as they came in sets). I also think having a compact weather radio to bring along to add some tunes to the times one is at rest at a camp site. Great videos you make. Been watching lots of your travels, But i must admit i disagre with you when coming to sleeping material, From my experience with mostly hiking, a decent sleeping mat beat the blowing up mat evry time, because they dont puncture, you dont need to blow them up, they are very insulating, you can sleep with it next to the fire without consern about it burning. They can easily be wrapped out for a a small rest, break or picnic. But maybe the new product has been improved over the last years. For me i havent had so good that experience with blow up mats i tried) But thats just my opinion:) Let me know if you come to Norway, and i have a flat for you to stay👍 Great videos. Thanks! For us, knock on wood, the blowup mats have been very reliable. Not 100% but very few punctures. We have had many many months sleep on them and the comfort (and insulation depending on the type of mat) is not really comparable and so much better than a closed cell mat. We do have that Evazote mat as extra which gives some peace of mind if there is a puncture. Thanks again for your hospitality. We were in Norway recently but had some troubles with the weather.
