Great advice. Never been much of a fan of tree stands, but I do really like my ground blinds and makeshift dead fall blinds. One of the best natural blinds I ever used was a fallen tree. The roots pulled out of the ground and the hole was like 3 feet deep, the bottom of the tree was standing probably about 4ft above ground. I sat in there and within two hours shot a nice doe, she never even looked my way. This was on state land too, great area, until it was clear cut. This was 10 years ago, still haven't found as good of a spot since, but that was nice while it lasted!
