So true. I remember this story (or was it a hadeeth? I can't remember) where someone told this man that wanted to stop committing a particular sin, "Everytime you thing about committing this sin, pray two rakaats of nafl." The man did this for a week and then came back and said that he no longer felt the urge to commit that sin. When asked why, response was said that Shaitan hates you doing good deeds MORE than abstaining from bad ones. AMAZING.

That's not how the story goes. "'I am Satan.' The man was shocked at this reply. Satan went on to explain, 'I saw you on your way to the masjid and it was I who made you fall. When you went home, cleaned yourself and went back on your way to the masjid, Allah forgave all of your sins. I made you fall a second time, and even that did not encourage you to stay home, but rather, you went back on your way to the masjid. Because of that, Allah forgave all the sins of the people of your household. I was afraid if I made you fall one more time, then Allah will forgive the sins of the people of your village, so I made sure that you reached the masjid safely’."

Shaytan is given no physical power what you're thinking probably. He can only evoke you to choose the wrong & go the opposite way from what Allah (swt) has said. It's jinn that physically can harm you, not Shaytan. & Above all Allah (swt) is the creator of all. If you fully believe in him, walk on his path & seek shelter from him, nothing in this world or, anywhere else is able to harm you. Alhamdulillah . No need to be scared of that lowest filthy Shaytan .

the story i heard about that is the first time he went allah (sbwt) forgave his sins, second time he went allah (sbwt) forgave him and everyone in the city's sins, the third time shaitan helped him get to the masjid because he was scared that this time he will make allah forgive the sins of everyone in the world! :D
