Ok sweet little story for ya 😁 I’m a Muslim hijabi girl. My whole life I attended a private Islamic school, but this year I go to a public school. I still talk to my Muslim friends all the time. One day, on the bus home, I was texting my Muslim friends. I had my non Muslim friend sitting next to me, let’s call her Alyssa. So on my phone, one of my friends texted “Salam” in the group chat, and Alyssa saw it, and she asked me “what does that mean?” So I explained to her what Assalamu Alaikum is. She then took my phone, said Salam to my friends, and started chatting with them. They enjoyed talking to Alyssa. I thought it was rly cute, my new friend talking to my old friends. When Alyssa got off the bus, she said to me, “Salam (my name) !” And walked off before I could reply. That made my day 😊

I got married back in 2019, before this pandemic started, to a non Muslim (she converted later) and I'm from a very Muslim family. My patents immigrated from Iraq yet they were very open and very welcoming to her. Due the pandemic, I barely get to see them or anyone from my family. A true story to make you feel less stupid, because legitimately NOTHING is more stupid than this. I go to university, and to do this, I take two buses every day to get there, and the same two buses back. Each bus takes one hour. Between when one bus arrives at the stop and the next, there are usually fifteen minutes. So it takes over two hours every time, and a total of almost five hours every day for me to just get to uni and back. And £8 for all four bus rides. [I don't have my license yet] Okay so I was set to mechanically wake up at 4, leave my house at 6:30 and get to uni at 9 for a lecture I Always Have On Wednesdays. Every Wednesday without fail, just that one lecture at 10, and I get there at 9 to make sure I'm not late due to potential bus delays along the way. One time, I didn't have that lecture. For weeks, I knew about this and I was so excited to have the day off. What happened on the day though? I. Didn't. Remember. I woke up at 4. Didn't check my timetable because _obviously_ I had the lecture at 10, like on every Wednesday of every week. I got ready, left at 6:30, took the first bus, took the second bus, arrived on campus and waited for when the lecture starts. At 10. I'm in the lecture hall. Nobody is there yet, just me. And THEN. THEN, ONCE I AM AT THE UNI, AFTER TWO HOURS OF BUS, AND MONEY SPENT, I REMEMBER _"Ooohh shit that's riight, I had the day off today."_ AND THEN I HAD TO TAKE THE TWO BUSES AGAIN TO GET BACK HOME AND I BASICALLY WASTED LIKE 7 HOURS OF THE DAY WHERE I COULD'VE CHILLED OR GOTTEN WORK DONE. Thus concludes, the absolutely dumbest shit to ever happen to any human being. Literally none of y'all can have done anything more stupid. So whenever you DO something stupid, I hope there's comfort in remembering "Oh well, at least I'm not as dumb as that girl from the comments on that video"
